Why don't dealers have Laser Alignment Equipment?

Yet another opinion thrown in the pot

when did it, steering alignment, become a warranty item?

Go buy a Ford or GM vehicle and experience an alignment problem during the fist six months and see if you get it under warranty!

i have to take a stand up for my selling and servicing dealer, Daytona Fun Machines, they did a very good job on putting our RTL SE-5 together. When Mike, the proud Dad of the Micro Alignment Laser Alignment tool system, offered to check my alignment with his system I just knew my RT might have been out of alignment. After Mike checked it he was standing there double checking his numbers looking a little bewildered he said "Bob,it is perfect!"

As a Spyder owner with previous automotive and heavy equipment experience, both civil and military, I can appreciate everyone wanting to be on the cutting edge of technology. But there are times when you want to have the latest and greatest tool technology But try to convince your bookkeeper to write the check. Maybe someday we might see BRP, the dealers, an the tool technology innovation experts all on the same page. I am not going to hold my breath for a few more days.

A question for those that are singing tales of woe is me, when was the last time you had a decent sit down conversation with the servicing dealers Service Manager about front steering alignment and their alignment methods in comparison to the ROLO Micro-Alignment System with the information put out on the "Spyderlovers.com forum?" Not all dealers read this forum on a daily basis.

Our dealer here in Longview ,wa is getting one. The manger paid for it out of his own pocket so our tech , could do is job better and fix the shacks in bike. Thks Pro Caliber of Longview , Wa...best tech in the north west by far.......Pro Caliber, Longview , Wa......
Good to hear, I was considering buying one myself and doing a few jobs to pay for it. My understanding though is that you really need BUDS to reset the steering sensor which I wouldn't have or plan on getting.

Some dealers simply don't care if it's not factory authorized. And everything here that people say about the laser alignment is simply hearsay to some dealers.

After talking with Mike yours must have bee one of the 3 out of 1300 that was "perfect" I know exactly what the alignment for a 2013 entails and the $300+ cost. The reason for the cost is the tear down to do it. Who ever heard aligning the front end with tires off? Even then it does not take the rear and front"scrub" into account. Lets factor in the quality of most dealers work is questionable . I have heard enough reports from those that have had the Outlaw alignment and the $130 cost +1/2 hr vs over 2 hrs. for the BRP to believe it is a better way to do it. I have read the book on the BRP align to frame method and it makes no sense to me. By the way my selling dealership has NO ONE that has even been to BRP school at this time. Do I want them working on mine?

P.S. Did I mention if after a check and it is good there is no charge:thumbup:

Everytime someone mentions the Rolo alignment, it seems the price goes up. roflmao

At first it was $100, then I started hearing $110, then heard LaMont charging $120, now you say $130. Lol

Funny to me because a car alignment is much more involved, takes at least an hour and is $79 all day long. :)

Does anyone know of a person or dealer doing this near Columbus Ohio, I would like to have it done.

It is $130 if they travel to your area. Less if you go to a shop. No one is making you pay for anything you don't have to have it done so what is your point?

We are pretty standard: if we travel, it is $130.
If you come here, Lamont's, Spydercomfort, or any authorized dealer, $120
You are comparing a car alignment to a Spyder alignment? That's like saying I can get my oil changed in my car for 20 bucks - why can't I get that on my Spyder? Probably because you don't have to remove body parts in a car to change the oil! Different processes, different vehicles.
I offer a military discount, as well. My way of saying thanks!

Return on Investment (ROI)

Your dealers are not charging the ridiculous hourly service rates FL is now

I would venture to re to say that the escalation and variance in charge goes back to theROI and what the company accountants and what amount of time to pay it and the owner"s want to agree on counts. I know when I was doing web design the pricing always varied right up till I said no more....

If you read it the poster implied that any laser will work( last paragraph). Untrue. Not only that but there is a patent on the Spyder system to prevent any generics as he suggested. I have read some posts offering laser alignments from non standard lasers but...there is only one Rolo/Outlaw patented system. The rest are rippoff imposters.

Mike at ROLO aka Outlaw Alignment uses a custom designed hub mount that a set a ZERO TOLERANCE on for his specifications from his manufacturer of the hubs. Back when I was at their facility he went into great details to satisfy my forever curious mind set. Mike and Kristal are both no nonsense people with very high standards in their business dealings from my view point. .b

Wow, I was just saying it seemed funny that the prices changed so much over the last few months roflmao

Experience Pays - Just an opinion

One of unspoken things about Mike Outlaw alignment, that no one seems to have picked up on is his level of expertise. If an when you get. To visit Mike an Kristal at their home base shop is an experience many never have been exposed to. Mike has a lot of experience in racing cars. So he knows all about caster, camber, toe-in/out, tire scrub and tire wear. Several things about their facility impressed me. The exterior and interior spaces were/are clean, orderly, look used but not worn out. Mike's specifications standards are simple, ZERO TOLERANCE. You can not get any more picky then that in my book!

Hmmmmmmmmm. Grey Ghost. I've heard that name some place. I wonder if any relation perhaps?

I seen Canadians and Brits call it Grey Ghost. I rode a 2005 Liquid Silver (gray) Royal Star Venture, and like Gen John S Mosby we would show up places no one expected us. Loved that bike and still hate the b that pulled out in front of me and totaled it.

My apologies, Cliff. I thought per chance you were another spyderlovers member, under another name. He is also from Kissimmee. I was wrong. Welcome to the area.
