• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Didn't see this in any polls on the general forum. I'm curious as to what reasons folks had towards purchasing a Spyder in particular. You have $15k-$30K to spend.. you can afford some nice touring motorcycles or trikes or a sports car as opposed to a Spyder.

Myself. Me and the missus have street bikes and dirt bikes, but neither of us wanted a touring bike. The Spyder is our "RV" for trips longer than a few days; two up and loaded down.

Since I saw a demo one in 2007 I have wanted one, after an amazing set of circumstances that led me to be "reborn" into a life I always dreamed about and never lived, I bought my spyder a year ago, and its been an amazing 22,000 miles.

I bought it because it is different, fun, and lets me be me.

Love the reverse trike platform. Plus I want to be different. Can't stand blending in...

I'm not a good thief so........ figured buying was the better option!:D

I bought my RS because of the safety, my wife (and kids) will ride on it with me, and I liked it. I then bought the RT for the above reason plus the touring comfort.

Also, one point to your post. The Spyder is a trike, but just safer.

Saw it in a cycle magazine article and wanted one from that day on. Put down $1000 and waited about 8 months. Got the second one to come to Alaska.

Thats easy........ it holds and hides lots of beer !!!!!!

more than 1 reason

I love that the spyder is in a class by itself but the added stability and safety was a big selling point too.

I actually was heading to the dealer to look at Kawasakis... :opps:
These funny-looking tripods were spread out around the entrance to the building.
The Missus turns to me and says, "These could be like our GoldWing when we first got married..."
And we were off to the races! :roflblack:

Still waiting for an opportunity to roll up to an event, pull out the small gas grill from the Givi bag, and pop the "frunk" to reveal a compartment full of ice and cold beverages. Does anyone make an insulated frunk liner? :D

I don't think motorcycles are scary &dangerous as the poll suggestsI enjoy riding motorcycles and rode my Goldwing 50000 miles round the US the past 3 years.
I was beginning to think 3 wheels would be better than 2 main reason I guess is that I take blood thinners and if I did go down I would not be a happy camper.
I was not crazy for a trike at all happened to see an RT,liked it immensley and decided eventually I would get one.6 months later I did.

Ivor:spyder:

Went to sunrise honda to buy a goldwing trike found out that i did not want a goldwing trike (long Story), saw the Spyder and two weeks later it was mine, no regrets, just plenty of miles and smiles. also saved alot of money because the Spyder was about 12,000.00 dollars cheaper, than the gold wing when you added all the spyder stuff to the goldwing.

Comfortable, safe, matching trailer, lots of cargo capacity...and lots of fun. I was getting tired of top-heavy touring bikes and sport-tourers...and none have ever been this comfortable. I liked my wife's Spyder, and when she suggested I get one, I couldn't say "No."

Y did i get bit

i first saw a:spyder2: that pulled up beside me in late 2008 i was at a stop light in my relativity new jeep wrangler and when the light turned green i sat there and watched it roll on thinking dam i should have got that lol

did some research on the web and finally found out what a spyder was showed my wife she said not till the jeep was paid off :lecturef_smilie:

well last year i paid it off and the spyder bug was still there so here i am with a 2009 RS a year and half later 24k miles farther down the road and loving it

i bought mine cause i loved the look not to mention with bad knees and ankles messed up lower back this allows me to ride :yes::yes:
