• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why did I do it.

I was at my snowmobile dealer to pick up my sleds after getting some warranty work done on them. I was also purchasing some new Klim boots and glove for this winters riding. After that I decided to sit on a 2014 RT Limited in Cognac and Sharon climbed on the back. Roger tells me to ride my St in and he will give me a deal I cannot refuse. (Ya Right) I am just thinking how much I will have to eat on that deal. I tell him in the spring, but now at home I am thinking will anyone have Cognac Rt,s left over in March or April?? I cant stop thinking about it. I am supposed to be thinking about snowmobiling and Canada right now.
By the way this is a new Spyder dealer he just recently got authorized to sell Spyders.

Problem, problem, problem. :roflblack:

You are sure right that there will not be any new 2014 RT--Cognac by spring. With one exception--my local dealer has one that he just moved off the floor to make room for the Ski Doos. He is not known for making good deals, or killer trades though--ask me how I know. :roflblack:

If your dealer's price is good enough for you, I would encourage you to do it. 99% of new 2014 owners are very happy with their purchases. I am even able to rationalize my "good deal" and have not looked back with any buyers remorse. I would do the same thing over again.

Let us know what you do.

i would take a ride just to see what he offers, if you like the rt and can can afford to do the deal why not give it a shot. good luck

Sounds familiar. Our intention (in August) was to buy in the Spring, but after hearing the numbers I was pretty sure that the deal would probably be gone by then. Slept on it one night and did the deal the next day. Sometimes timing is everything, if you're already inclined to buy.

Jump, jump! Life's too short to ride old technology. I was going to gamble there'd be a Cognac RT-S available in the spring but with my dealer unloading '14 RTs in a great yellow tag sale there would have been none left.

Choices choices..!!

talk is cheap...can't hurt to see the offer you can't refuse is in fact one you can't refuse...:roflblack: but if you test ryde it your sunk...:lecturef_smilie:

I would hear him out a see what deal he offers. No harm in hearing him out. If it doesn't make sense, you can always say, 'no thanks' and you still have a great ride.

Shame on you,

you're supposed to be lighting the snow candles instead of looking at new Spyders.

Seriously, if it made that kind of impression and you can swing it I say go for it. Life is short and some of peoples biggest regrets in later life are not buying that " XXXXXX" when I had the chance. Good luck either way.

What is the name of the dealer? Just curious because I'm in P.A. not to far from you.

Hollingers Sports N Turf. They were authorized to service Spyders but they just became authorized to sell them sometime mid summer/late summer I think. They also own Leisure who has been selling Spyders for a while and of course Blackmans which is were I bought my ST.
It is good for us 3 dealers and the farthest one is about 40 miles away. Gives us lots of choices.

Well we were there to buy some new snow gear for this winter.

I just had my ST fix a few minutes ago. Went for a quick 40 rip on some back roads. I would just love to upgrade, but I know I will be taken to the cleaners on a trade for this 13ST. It has been trouble free and dependable.. I will see what spring brings. I have been known to suddenly change my mind.

but you haven't even heard the deal -- you can't know that you'll be taken to the cleaners until you hear it. You can always say no at that time.

Thanks, I purchased mine from leisure sports and turf. I use Blackmans for service. I like their service department And dealership better.

You know you want to see the offer and do the deal.. you are just here looking for a little nudge... so nudge... nudge....

In the state of Tennessee your trade dollars are not taxed with the sale (the trade was already taxed when it was bought new). I traded my 2010 and after paying sales tax only on the difference it made the trade about a thousand dollars better than it would have been had I sold outright and bought the '14 straight out.. Let's face it, most of the dealers will go with the book price of trade ins. I know the book price was a couple of thousand less than I would have liked, but when factoring in the lower sales tax I gained a thousand, then factoring in that I may have set on the spyder trying to sell for a couple of months is something I just am not good at. Let the dealer take the risk with selling the used one. If he makes money on it that is great, if not it is him and not me. The dealer is better able to set on it for a few months if need be and I simply didn't want to do that. With all that being said I am very happy going ahead and trading for the '14. with the lower sales tax factored in I don't feel like I got hit all that much.

Hi Dave,

Is THIS the Spyder you are looking at?. I wrote that up about a month ago. It should be a very good deal, since it's a demo and has all those extras on it. But the demo miles were mostly put on by the company owner who used it as his personal bike this past season. I was very tempted to work up a deal, but I've got so much money in my 2013 RT, between all the farkles and resolving the heat issue, that I was afraid to ask for the numbers. I like my 2013 a lot now that I've got it the way I want it, and I don't want to be tempted to trade up so soon.

Blackman's does have a good service department, but either of the Sports N Turf stores will give you a better deal on a purchase. I bought mine at Leisure and get it serviced there as well. No complaints.
