• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Why are you going to the Owners Event in Maggie Valley?

From what I'm told this will be the biggest owners event for the Spyder, almost twice as many preregistrations. So why is that? Is it just the location or what? I know that there are more Spyders on the road now and more of us have become friends through the years but there has to be some reason at least the folks on this board decided to make this event in larger numbers as apposed to the last three owners events. :dontknow:

What's your reason?

Why are you going to the Owners Event in Maggie Valley

Would never pass up and excuse to go to Smokies....
Maybe more Spyder owners East of the Mississippi now.....:dontknow:

Freebob...:doorag:

Its NOT in a BIG City!!! and your helping put it togther so we know it wont be a corp deal. Just plain old meet and greet and fun.....no lines, forms, and rules, plus its more than a 24 hour show its an event:2thumbs:

I had planned to make last years. Unfortunately a judge told me that I was going to trial that week. I was able to finesse my schedule this year to make it. Cindy and I can't get enough of the Smokies though.

Why I'm Going

It's an opportunity to meet a lot of other Spyder Ryders and to talk to some suppliers. I'm not a group rider and never have been in 60 years of riding. I'm not really anti-social. I just don't like the committee approach to "which way do we turn, now?" I do, however, like most of the Spyder Ryders I've met at dealerships and on the road. So, I'll have the opportunity to meet many more in this event.

Just a great excuse to get out and ryde and an opportunity to ryde the dragon. Plus, how can you beat the company?

Two birds with one stone, since your BBQ was scheduled to coincide. I also appreciate the distance from the big city...as well as all the good riding, both in the area and on the way there. Finally, it is serving as a great place to launch our Blue Ridge Parkway/Skyline Drive ride back home.

#1. I've never been to this area of country.
#2. I wanted to experience another Spyder focused event. (Spyderfest 2011 was my first).
#3. I wanted the opportunity to meet more :spyder2: owners.
#4. I wanted to see some folks I've become aquainted with again.
#5. I've got a lot to learn and the amount of knowledge present will be awesome.
#6. I love ryding my :f_spider.
#7. It's close enough to make the trip.
#8.I have vacation days available.
#9. I have the cash.
And #10. I want to meet you and and other members of the Spyder 5 and get your autographs.  :2excited:

Every Spyder event I have been to has been fantastic so I will go anywhere the group is going. I would hate to miss an event and miss out on seeing my Spyder friends.

I'm not, but I wish I was.:(

I'm getting to old to keep missing out on the fun. I am going to have to change my life's priorities.

Have fun each and every one of you that are fortunate enough to be going.

Because it beats the heck out of Chicago. Ph, wait, I am not going....OOPS, work calls. But it still beats the heck out of Chicago.

I coming for the food :2thumbs: :2thumbs: LOL.

For me it's an opportunity to see Friends that I have met because of this great web site and to meet new Friends and a chance to see some great spyders as well.

Location, location, location.....:doorag:

Come on Doc. We know its because......

The location is critical and visiting Spyder Friends from prior gatherings is the icing on the Cake.. If this were in a Metro area I would pass and catch up with friends elsewhere

As a fairly new :spyder2: owner (March 2011) I have become quite involved with the Spyderlovers site and have met many great people through posting. My first post started at least a year before buying my :spyder2: and I received wonderful response from everyone here. Now I am anxious to meet in person all of you that I have communicated with and see what the :spyder2: community is all about! It will be about a 10 to 11 hour drive for us but we have some time free and I can't wait to ride with all of you that love riding your :spyder2: as much as I LOVE riding mine!!!
One not so great moment for me in attending this event. My husband's Harley is in the shop and he will not have a bike for the next 2 weeks so I have to give up driving my :spyder2: and I have to be his passenger! :yikes: :gaah:  Unfortunately, I will not get to experience driving the mountains of NC myself unless I can convince him to be my passenger. Yeah, right. :roflblack: Any suggestions on how to convince a husband to be a passenger?

Mine road b_tch last year in Gatlinburg so he could have a drink. I'm the designated driver. Get him drunk and put him on the back.
