• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Who's running HID's on their RT?

Looking at replacing mine with HID's but seeing nobody is offering them other than BRP I wanted to see what your using and what plays nice with the RT.

I converted the RT headlights to HIDs using the same eBay kit and install that Inspector Gadget has posted in detail previously. The total cost for the HID lights (with slim digital ballasts) was under $40. delivered! The install was done using RL's instructions and has to be done very carefully but worked out great. The lights are seriously better than the stk headlights. I think RL did his foglights as well.

Here's the kit (for one side, but they come as a pair) ...

What watt, what K and what bulbs did you use?
The specs are listed in RL's link, for both the headlights & foglights. The bulbs are 35w and it is amazing how much brighter they are than stk 55w bulbs. They never seem to get very hot like a larger HID probably would.

I also picked up 2 extra HID bulbs, for spares, from the same eBay seller, Xenon-Factory, for $10. delivered.

Just be sure to get the HID kit with Digital Slim Ballasts

The only hickup I had was when it was all installed, nothing worked until we reversed the polarity by reversing the connectors, then they came on and have worked flawlessly for months.

We have them on the RT also. Have the fogs and headlights running 6000k. No issues at all. they're digital slims. $160.00 for all both sets.

I got the same kits and when I went to install found that the recommended size for the fog lights bayonet fitting was off slightly. According to Inspector Gadget you may have to cut or nibble away slightly to make fit. This is a project I'll be doing in next few weeks before my ryde down to Daytona for bike week. ;)
