• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Had to leave early Saturday so I missed all the prizes. Hope I didn't miss getting a prize. So who won what?

Home early too

A sick 2yr old (birthday is today!) and a bad oil pressure sensor sent me home early too. A big thanks to Kevin at Cowtown who helped diagnose my Spyders issue. He felt really bad that he didn't have any more sensors in stock, but I got home safe and sound and will contact the local dealer tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a great Saturday night! What were the prizes?

I'm sorry to hear about Teddy, I hope he is going to be okay! Surgery sounds pretty serious, what happened?

It was great to finally meet you in person, and thanks for showing us the "Spyderfest Eddition" RT you picked up, that was awesome!

I hope Teddy is back on all four paws soon!

Harry (3tracs)

Not to hijack this thread but how's Teddy?

I can tell you a lot of people won something. The vendors and donations were generous but can't remember specifics.

Just got my cycle world brp. applied for a leaning spyder pateNt do you think thnt

Does any know anything about the possibility of a leaning spyder if they build it nothing including bikes will keep up with it in the corners

To answer the original poster, the winner of the paint job prize went to Mike Cole. Congrats to him, but I was robbed. I demand a re-drawing.:roflblack:

I did receive one of the many gifts offered, though, and a nice prize at that. It was the great St. James Winnery basket.

Now that I think about it, I believe that Mike should trade me my gift for his.:lecturef_smilie:After all, it would be a fair and even switch, don't you agree? :ohyea:

So, what say you, Mike....deal?

Just let me know. I'm already designing (in my head) what I want done on my :spyder2:.

Oh, and just a thought, I would also consider the Elka shocks that went to Brian Tang, as a secondary prize. Hehe:D

We missed it all as well

Teddy will hopefully be ok within a couple of weeks. Bed rest (yeah, right) anti-Inflamatories, pain meds & hopefully when the swelling in his knee goes back down, we can massage it back into place without needing surgery:pray:

Sorry to hijack, back to your regularly scheduled thread topic

There were lots of prizes given out Saturday night, both to the many winners of Spyders on the greens and the Passport rides. Many sets of oil filters, IPS key mods, magnetic drain plugs, helmets, gift (food & wine) baskets, Vertika Trykes gift certificates, various Spyderpops products, Baker air wings, many of the radio controlled Spyder toys, a womens CanAm jacket, a set of Elka shocks, a $2500 paint job from Ferris Customs and probably a few more items that I am forgetting.

Spyderpops had a side contest where people entered a guess of how many rivet stickers he had on his Spyderpops.com Spyder. I forget the exact number but I think it was around 1700 and the person who guessed the closest without going over won $100 cash.

I was fortunate enough to win the prize that I really wanted in the Passport ride, the Elka shocks. :2thumbs: On that note, I want to thank all the sponsors who provided prizes for Spyderfest, especially Elka. :2thumbs: I was glad that I didn't talk dltang into leaving earlier on Saturday to beat a storm that was forecast for our return trip home.

One other thing just popped into my mind, the autographed guitar from the Oakridge boys. That was given away in a separate drawing and was presented to the winner on Saturday night. I'm not very familiar with them so forgive me not knowing the names but one of the members of the group was there to present the guitar and he is also a Spyder lover.

The Oak Ridge Boys autographed guitar was the raffle prize to support the Backpack Kids of Cuba which provides food for those in need over the weekend and when they are not in school receiving lunch. Ike Ebersold (fellow spyder rider) donated this guitar which he played during the Oak Ridge Boys 2007 tour and at the end of the Christmas tour, while sitting in a hotel room all four members of the Oak Ridge Boys group autographed the guitar. They are Duane Allen, Joe Bonsall, William Lee Golden, and Richard Sterban. The guitar is an Esteban AL-100 that was given to Ike personally by Esteban himself. I was the fortunate one to win this prize and will cherish this for years to come.

By the way it seems this was the year for Cole’s to win Spyderfest prizes with Mike Cole winning the custom paint prize.
