Who, Where, and When will the first SE5 arrive?

Derwin,

Don't get discouraged..... First of all the spyder team quoted the original updated North American Delivery Dates.... I think that the Spyder team does not want to have everybody e-mailing them about when their Spyder will arrive so they are just using this official line as an out.

You may have gotten a accurate answer from that Marie Eve-Lachapelle, but when you wrote back, the Spyder team made a decision not to start looking up orders and possible factory delivery dates because it would have opened up a flood of e-mails. So when you wrote again, it was signed only Spyder Team !!! But Marie may really know.

I could have been the one that put the damper on these type of questions to Spyder Team....(As soon as you quoted Marie's first reply, I sent an e-mail to the Spyder Team and asked that it be forwarded to Marie.) I've gotten no reply... and probably because Spyder Team knows that somehow Marie went out of her way to reveal more than Spyder Team wants you to know...

I am very confident that these SE5's will be delivered 2-3 months early. Spyder has to get this product out in the summer time so that it spreads like wildfire and more orders are placed.... Even their markenting team is anxious to know about pre-ordering SE5 customers "before" and "after" they receive their roadsters.... Expect the best, in this situation.

Well, from your mouth, to God's ears! I really hope you are correct. Actually, what you say makes a lot of sense, but it also could be that Marie just got things mixed up. Like I say....I really hope you are right about this. I would love to be riding my Spyder this summer, instead of getting it in September!

Derwin,
I hop she's right also. The sooner you receive yours the sooner those who ordfered after you (like myself) will get there's.

Here's an email I sent to the Spyder Team yesterday:

Hello! The first email you sent me said that I could expect my Spyder SE5 by the end of May. Is this still true for ME? Or, was that a mistake? Please let me know SPECIFICALLY about MY order: Certificat A02938

Thank you.

Derwin Beushausen

HERE IS THE RESPONSE I JUST GOT FROM THEM THIS MORNING:

Greetings M. Beushausen,

My first email was a mistake and confusion on your model and I apologies for it.

Indeed specifically for SE5 orders received by BRP from October 1st 2007 to Feb 29th 2008 for SE5 deliveries are scheduled starting September 30th 2008 as indicated on spyderryder.com . My previous response was based on SM5 transmission orders and therefore does not apply to SE5.

I can confirm that your dealer sent in your certificate. However, please note that ultimately your dealer is responsible on how the units are allocated to its customers.

I would like to reinstate my apologies.

Best Regards,

The Spyder Team

So, I guess it was indeed a mistake, and we won't be getting our Spyders until September. I mean, she made it so perfectly clear in this last email, so there is no room for speculation. :edit:

Seems that Derwin has a friend at Spyder Team..... I can't get anything back in a response.

But I'm not giving up yet, I still think as the summer progresses that they will start getting more (both SM5 and SE5) out quicker. Someone in Massachussetts in one of these threads quoted that his dealership had already received all of his SM5 orders through May!

A curious question... the official statement says they will be received by Sept 30th, (as I read it) but the Spyder Team says they will start delivery by Sept 30th. Does that mean October and November for some of us????

In keeping all things regarding SE5 Spyder (to-be-owners) in one thread.... I can't help but wonder if the Valcourt Homecoming event won't be a little sad if there aren't some SE5's coming home as well. After all BRP has touted this automatic for almost a year now, but there are no retail models that will be available by June according to their delivery schedule.

Perhaps they will have some rolling out of the factory when the homecoming group gets the tour.
Perhaps BRP will make Valcourt a yearly event and next year the SE5's will be the focus.

Those of us SE5 (to-be-owners) keep the faith, I still am optimistic that this model will be available this summer.

LOL! No, I don't have any friends over at the Spyder Team. But I did contact them the first time back in December, and they took a while to answer me. I've contacted them a few times since then, and they usually answer in a few days, and sometimes the next day. I don't think I'll be contacting them anymore, though, since all of my questions have now been answered.

From what they stated in the last email, I am very doubtful of a release before September. But they may just be saying that to cover themselves.....who knows!

Put me down for MAY 18th,

I don't have an inside scoop yet, my "overzealous" dealer said I could expect an SE5 in Mid May

Good to hear that there are others that are hoping for early deliveries. As I said before, the marketing team has been sending out to some certificate holders a questionaire: Here are some of the questions that they asked me.

5. What is your favorite pastime?

6. When and where did you first hear about the Spyder roadster?

7. What was the first thing you thought when you saw the Spyder roadster

10. When did you decide to purchase the Spyder roadster?

11. Where did you purchase your Spyder roadster?

12. Why did you choose the SE5?

13. How did you select the color of your Spyder?

14. When do you anticipate delivery?

15. What will you do to pass the time until you receive delivery?

16. What is the first thing you plan to do when you receive delivery of your Spyder?

I think that they are preparing a media blitz about the SE5, and they asked if they could interview me after I recieved my SE5. Personal opinion, they don't need 4 months (till Sept) to make this happen, it has to happen soon. Also they want to interview me when I receive my SE5 roadster... If I get it after September, I might have to reply that the first thing I did when I received it was " Put my toy up for the winter!" (that won't be what they want to hear.)

That's good to hear. Keep my fingers crossed for summer delivery.

Does anyone know what the BRP production level is? How many units do they build a day?

When this question was asked in the past, BRP stated that it is not their policy to release their production data.

What dealer did you order from, and when did you order it? I ordered back in December. Man, I hope your dealer is correct!

I ordered the SE5 around Christmas time. I am in the Toronto area in Ontario. The first date I received was Early July - but the dealer has bumped it up. I am a little less hopeful about Mid-May with all that I am reading here :dontknow:

STar Cruiser in Ontario, hope your dealer is right also. But the best news out of your dealer's conversation is that he was hearing mid-July, that's significantly better than September. And his maybe "overzealous" May arrival might be too optimistic but overall fits into what I've been saying.... BRP is planning to release these roadsters earlier than later....

I want whoever, when, and where to make sure they get us some details about the "first to arrive" SE5.... Questions like, (1) Did you dealer expect the SE5 that soon (2) Were there other SE5's on the truck going to other dealers (3) What is the serial number on this roadster.. is it a new sequential series? (4) When was this SE5 pre-ordered and how many other SE5 orders does the dealer now have still to fill.

And finally, when that first one arrives, let me know your t-shirt size and I will be glad to buy both the new owner and the person with the best guess of first arrival date one!

Another Question: Hope everybody at Spyderlovers is reading.

Numbering System for Pre-Order Certificates. My number is A02998. I know Derwin has A02938. We both have pre-orders for SE5. Does someone have a certificate number between these numbers....perhaps A02950 and has a pre-order for an SM5. I was wondering if there was a seperate numbering system for each model. If the numbers are sequential regardless of model SM5 or SE5 then maybe someone that "just got the call" can tell us what number on his certificate he had.

I suspect that these numbers A029XX that Derwin and myself have are for the SE5, as surely there have been more than 2900+ roadsters ordered, but I hope that there are not 2900+ SE5's already pre-ordered yet! (Not that I don't want BRP to have lots of sales, but I think I will be depressed if there are 2,997 to go before mine!)

Hard to tell about numbering systems, but anybody wanting to contribute some other certificate numbers we might be able to "crack" it.

I completely agree. Heck, I thought I was one of the first to order an SE5, so how can I be number 2938? It really doesn't make since. I'm sure they have some kind of "system" regarding SE5 allocations. Hey, I think I figured it out...... If you ADD all of the individual numbers in my certificate, than I would be the 22nd person in line to get an SE5! What do you think of that? I like it! ;D

I think more people are ordering them than you guys realize. Remember this is for all states and Canada and overseas that have dealers. Also, even those of us that have our manual Spyders had a chance to order the SE5 way back when, so there may be orders from last summer yet. We were told we could put in an order for the SE5 back in August when my husband ordered his, but that it wouldn't be in until Sept. 08 and was $1000 more. There may be many others who got that info and ordered the SE5 instead of a Premier Edition because the automatic was more important than the number. Just a thought guys, I have not facts to base this on. But from experience of someone that waited and speculated, give it up. You will get it when you get it and then you will love it and not care that you waited or when it was delivered.
