Who has the perfect Spyder?

I've read a lot of bad/need improvement things about the Spyder. I understand the newness of the product. But, is there anyone out there that has not had a single issue with their Spyder?:dontknow:

I shall knock on wood, but the only issue I have is squeakie brake..
However, I drowned the problem pad with Disk Brake Quiet and so far, 4 days the squeak has left..

I'm afraid to reply for fear of jinxing my Spyder. No squealing brakes, no overheating issues, no relay failures (that's because I bought a spare and carry it), no stuck parking brake (don't use it often), no stuck mode button, no DPS issues, no wobbles, no fail to start, no fault codes, no oil leaks, no tire issues, no belt problems. Just the burn spot on the muffler and a failed tail light bulb. I am one happy owner compared to some with multiple problems or recurring ones. Now I've clearly angered the Spyder demons and will probably need to spread some holy water, garlic and brake pad dust around it tonight to ward off the evil spirits. Wait, it is already protected by brake pad dust.

I had a Check Engine light go on but it never came on again - 3000 miles later. I do have squeaky breaks but it doesn't happen all the time. Seems like it happens when it's humid out. And if it does, when I come to a light or stop sign I wait till last minute and then just JAM on them and it goes away.

Check engine light a couple of times, brake squeel sometimes, parking brake if I forget to lube it, cracked windshields. Nothing major, certainly! Compared to a British bike from the Sixties, this thing is a breeze. Motorcycles come with a tool kit for a reason. Ride it, love it, put up with it's minor flaws, just like your spouse puts up with yours.

Thanks folks, I really just wanted to know that it was possible, at least until I had enough time to enjoy it. 3000 miles will do just fine:2thumbs:. I plan to take the motorcycle training course in two weeks. Still on track for '09.:2thumbs: Still stupid-excited about the :spyder::yes::yes::yes:
Any other design, just won't do.:dontknow: I'm not mechanically inclined, and am hoping I won't have to fire the wife and get with a chic with grease under her nails. Then again...

3000 is great. I've used that same break fix on past SUVs. I think a break service tech told me to do that.

I've only got 900+ on mine after 10 days but have no major complaints. Only time I had a problem (other than the original factory issue of not tightening the clutch reservoir which let fluid leak out on paint - not a mechanical issue) was due to my own mistakes. It tells you not to turn it off in "reverse" mode and I did and got an "E" code when next started. Taking the key out to clear it and restarting in 1st cleared that. All but first 125 of my miles have been out riding by myself as my best friend (who happens to be my husband) hasn't been feelin' well and hasn't been riding. I feel totally comfortable going off and not worrying about any failures. (I, too,hope I haven't jinxed myself). You'll be having so much fun when you get yours, you'll not even think about the "what ifs". I'll have them check a few little things next week when I take it in for 1st maintenance - clutch lever adjustment and a "floppy" feeling belt between 67 and 72 mph when I accelerate up fast. Other than that no issues at all which is more than I can say about some past bikes I've had!

No complaints here. After reading about all the problems; thought mine was the only one that was close to perfect. Nice to hear from so many satisfied Spyder Ryders. OK, I do have to take care of the squeaky brakes I too hope I haven't jinxed myself.

The Spyder's not perfect - but it's close enough. Over 2000 miles on mine in 2 months without any major problems. Just wish the brakes didn't squeal...

Who said that:hun:........sold my SM with 4500 miles never had an issue, superb ryde superb roadster.

At about 2,200 miles in the first month, I am pretty happy. :thumbup:

I consider the Spyder, my exotic; much like a Ferrari or Lamborghini owner. They are not perfect cars! They all have glitches. Think about it. The Spyder isn't Italian. But, the Rotax engine inside is full-on European. And, it's the same engine used in the Italian Aprillia Sport Bikes.

This is an exotic machine. And, for this very reason, I think it's important to buy the B.E.S.T. extended warranty if one plans on keeping the Spyder past the initial 2 year coverage. :thumbup:

I'm with everyone here. No machine is perfect, but so far, knock on wood, my :spyder:has been pretty reliable and trouble free.

Only problem I've had is squeaky brakes, but a hard stomp usually fixes that, and the temperature gauge showing 6 and 7 bars in 100 degree heat at a stop light, but it's never shown overheating or gone into limp mode.

Can't say the same thing about when I bought a first year Dodge minivan (1996) when they first went from boxy to sleek. That van was a real lemon.

The Spyder on the other hand has been sweet.

spyder issues

I bought my red se5 last friday and i got a bit over 300 miles on it so far, it has glitched third gear a couple of times but corrected itself almost instantly and the yesterday i just got around the corner of my house and at stop sign it died and wouldnt start back up i took the key out put it back in still wouldnt start so i took key out again waited for i dont know 15 or 20 sec and put it back in and it started up i dont have a clue what the heck caused that . my brakes dont squeal cause i im breakin them in properly dealer told me if i didnt want them to sqeak then take it easy when stopping so they seat themselves properly and then u shouldnt have any issues with skeagage. Man this SE5 freakin is a blast to drive around IMO not having to pull a clutch and shift with your foot makes riding so much more enjoyable All the stresses of the day just go by by when im riding absolutly LOVE my spyder:b2b:

The only time I hear my brake squeal is when I back up. I dont expect perfection. Its a machine and it WILL break from time to time.
