• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This thread was started asking who has the oldest Spyder. PE Number 6.jpg

So I ask, where are all of the OLDEST original 2008 GS Spyders, like the first 100? Or first 1000 for that matter?

Are they all sitting in storage? There have to be some of the first 100 units still getting ridden hard, are there not? Are the owners just not active on this forum? WTF?

It is RARE for me to ever see a 2008 Premier Edition with a serial number below 100, let alone below 1000.

So if by "OLDEST" we are talking lowest serial number of 2008s, step up everyone. Where are the first 100? There has to be more than just one of us on here?:dontknow:

I have #260. 17000 miles or so. Still riding. Looks like this now.(plasti-dip) 20131128_165906[1].jpg

I have PE 459, 48,000 miles, ride it everyday, love it. Replaced the oil sender once.
I have a 13 ST also, #589, it's OK. Sure am glad I didn't trade my GS for it!

Wife and I have two 2008 SE5 GS that we bought in Sept. 2008 and have a little over 30,000 miles each. Yes we have had things to go wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yikes::yikes::yikes:

There we go. Captain Jim and I both kept a 2008 GS while we also have a 2013 ST. I too am glad I kept one of my 2008s, they are still VERY fun to ride. Quicker, faster, better handling, still a complete and total riot to ride. The 2013 sits the rider more upright and is more comfortable, but I admit the 2008, with all of the updates, is solid. I would not hesitate to take it across the country right now today. Wish I could.

To that end, I constantly watch craigslist to see when someone is unloading a 2008 with low miles. If you act fast you can pick one up at a great price, IMO. They are out there and they do come up for sale, sometimes they have been sitting and the owner just wants to get some equity out of it, so they will let it go cheap. They've been going for less in Wisconsin than they have been in Minnesota, one just has to watch.

And thanks to the rest of you Premier Edition owners for stepping up and being heard! We know there are more out there........

I have #21.
I was once told by a can am rep that he remembers having 15-20 in the demo fleet, so I'd guess they're long gone.
approx. 9000 miles on #21. I am original owner even though #21 did some travelling before being purchased. It started at a dealer in New York that went out of business, so bank got the inventory of that dealer. Then a dealer in Wisconsin bought from bank, where I bought it and brought it back to Kansas City with 5 miles on it.

I also spent about an hour and a half on the phone with Can Am a couple years ago where he and I actually went thru VINs and build dates. They didnt necessarily come down the line in numerical order. The build date on my #21 was actually earlier than some that had lower numbers. They may have been grouped by auto/manual tranny, color, etc. Yes, I know mine isnt the oldest, but its darn close
