• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Who has done their own XenonDepot Extreme HID Install?

Questions for those that have done their own install of the Xenon Depot (KB Carstuff) HID kits. If your dealer installed yours, you probably can't answer the questions.

Question #1
Did you install the extra relay harness that came with the kit?
I couldn't get the headlights back in with the relay module and harness, there wasn't enough room. So, I left the relay harness off. I did call Xenon Depot earlier this week and asked just what the harness did and was told it supplies 12 volts direct from the battery to the lights to prevent flickering. This is apparently a problem with some vehicles. They told me that they didn't think the Spyder needed to use it. My new HID headlights work and sitting in the garage at idle I don't see any flickering so maybe I'm OK

Question #2
For replacing the RT factory fog lights with the Xenon Depot HID kit will I need to install the relay harness?

There is more room but I'd like to avoid running extra wires from the frunk because they become a problem when you need to remove the frunk for any service.

Question #3
Does anybody know what the HID lights draw for current?

We have a lot going on currently, so mine sit in the box awaiting. I checked it all out no have no plans to run the additional power feed wires.

Apparently, some Spyders have had issues with interference causing shifting issues with the Spyder computer. No one has reported this on the 2014 model RT series.

The oem lights draw more for the headlights than the HID, and I would need to check but I believe also more when stock for fog lights. So the HID in each location is less than oem stuff, my reason for not adding the wires.

I installed them on both of ours. Didn't have any problem getting the headlights back in. The low profile module fit just fine. Haven't done fog lights.

I would suggest the extra harness direct to the battery for headlights if you have an SE model. It helps to cut down on spurious signals that could affect the SE transmission.

HID Install

Any easy way to power up the headlight circuit on a '12 RT-S SE5 without actually starting the engine? I need to make that polarity check.
