• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How do I tell which my motor my rts has? Also what does the s stand for. I know these are stupid question. Just trying to learn friends

RE: RTS

RT's were made between 2010 and 2013 with the 998 two cylinder engine.
RT's from 2014 and up are the 1330 three cylinder engine.

The S is upline from the base model. Usually contains more plastic chrome pieces, has actual gas and temperature gauges, cruise control, driving lights, radio, and auto suspension system.

If your RT was made between 2010 and 2013 it will have a V-twin cylinder engine (990 or 991 Model depending upon the year; 990 or 998 cc); from 2014 on, they had the 1330 cc ACE Triple cylinder engines. The 'S' in RT-S denoted 'Special' & a model spec between the base model RT's & the RT Limited's.

Welcome to the organization.
No such thing as a stupid question.
The year will tell all. 2014 and newer is the 1330 cc 3 cylinder engine.
2013 and older is the 990/998 cc 2 cylinder engine except the ST Series that kept the 998 engine th
The S usually stands for the Sport model. Detailed description answers will be available from the members.

Rtl not s, have one

If it’s a later model, that’s true, Bighorn. Unfortunately you have not included your year model. If it is a, say, 2012, it may indeed be an RT-s, as that was the model definition back then;) Why don’t you pop your model and year in your signature?

Pete.

There is a difference between an RTL and an RTS. The RTS has the items I mentioned in post #3 over and above the plain RT model.

The RTL has real chrome trim, comes with a Garmin in addition to all the RTS features. Usually about $2K more than the S version.

I believe that the L designation stands for Limited...and is currently for top of the line and "loaded" with the most accessories.

I am not sure what the in between S designation stands for, but I think is may be for Special.

It's a 2014. Red with black trim. I'm just one of those guys who research every thing. Which can be a bad thing. Lol

Regardless of model all 2014 RT have the 1330 motor. You can verify this by going for a ride and counting how many gears you shift thru. On yours it will be 6+ reverse as the 1330 motors have 6 gears, the VTwin motors only have 5 gears + reverse.
