• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Which HID kit (color temperature) bulb do you have?

I'm deciding between the H7:
4300k
6000k
8000k

Bulb kit. I know that 4300 is cooler and 8000 is warmest, but I guess I'm just looking for opinions... Thanks

You have that backwards. The lower number on the Kelvin scale is the warmer light.

5000K is considered daylight. Higher numbers get bluer and start to lose light output. I think most people go with the 6000K. If you go to 8000K you will lose about 20% of the light output.

A blacklight which gives out virtually no useable light is about 30,000K.

I am thinking of getting HID's soon and am not sure which way I will go. My mind is telling me 6000K for better output but my anal side is telling me 8000K as they will look more like my ESI Dayrunners. And I'm not really sure if the loss of light as it appears on the road is really that significant.

FYI, 8000K will not be purple. Purple shows up around 12000K.

Actually purple shows up around 12000K not 1200K. You go toward the blue end of the spectrum the higher you go.

Oops, thanks Orange. I left off a zero, getting a little late and I'm very tired. I guess I can't count to three or I short fingered that last zero. Edited my post to correct the error.

Thanks for the clarification guys.
4300 it is

Yes, sunlight is around 5000-5500 Kelvin. I went with the 35 watt, 6000K bulbs.
Bought my units from DDM Tuning.
