• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Which gps mount for Zumo XT on Ryker? What do you have?

I am currently looking into a GPS device for use next to my phone. When going for a GPS it will be the Garmin Zumo XT. However, I am struggling a bit as to to which mount to get (am getting a cross bar on the Ryker). Came across Touratech Handlebar mount for Garmin Zumo XT *lockable*, black and thought that this might be a good one. That is if a ram ball can be in place of one of the screws holding the handlebars clamped in. See photos below.

This made me wonder what are you using as a GPS mount. So please, share what you use and if you have a photo of it could you ,please, include it. For a picture says more than..... :D

I fabricated this bracket out of sheet aluminum. Sorry, I did not record exact dimensions. I made up a cardboard template first.

I saw your DIY project - though unfortunately I am not that handy. I would be brilliant though if someone would make it commercially.Would love something like this. Guess you are not going into mass production ;)

I only used my TomTom on one 1100+ mile 6 day trip.
It's suction cup worked well on the back of the sport windscreen.
Stayed 2 nights in hotels at Vermilion Cliffs, Arizona and Kanab, Utah, without issue.
Not that I would generally recommend leaving a suction cup GPS unattended.

DickB's bracket is first class!

Sportdsterdoc - thanks for the suction cup reply. Good to know that it works well. Though I want a more permanent solution on the bike.
Agree with you that DickB's bracket is outstanding.

Understood

The Touratech site does have a manual link, but I did not see an explanation about the ball mount. Should be a matter of the correct bolt diameter, pitch and length.

BTW, wife and I have been to Amsterdam and Eindhoven...beautiful country, even in February, circa 1998

Sportsterdoc - funny :) Eindhoven is the town I grew up in and lived in till about 25 years of age. Though have been living in Utrecht for nearly 20 years now.

The ball mount I discussed with the dealer and he is going to take care of that. Looks like:

Glad the mounting is solved. I had business with OTB Engineering in Eindhoven. We enjoyed the train ride from Amsterdam to Eindhoven and back.
