 What a day we've had...
Snowing here at 7:45 am this morning; we head out for about an hour and twenty minute drive to a Jeep Dealer... looking at a Jeep Liberty with a lot less miles, and a lot newer tires than my Silverado.
The roads aren't too bad; we get there, and make a deal on the little critter!
As we leave; the snow catches up to us... We drive back down the thruway to Kingston (one exit) in whitout conditions... :yikes:
The rest of the day had us heading out to Walton to cry in the dealer's showroom, and then let the Missus get some fabrics for her next quilting project...
HOLY MOLEY!! Rte 28 heading West out of Kingston was a nightmare!! blinding snow, roads slicker than snot, cars and trucks in ditches... and this Silverado has about the worst tires imagineable on it for these conditons. I swear; it could get stuck on a dogturd... :gaah:A barely legal amount of tread left is NEVER enough!
Got stuck on onle long grade; along with about six minivans full of metrosexuals who think that snow is pretty, and you drive on it just like you do on dry pavement... :banghead: A bag of dirt later, and I leave them in a spray of dirt and snow!
After a three-hour white-knuckle ride that should have taken no more than ninety minutes; I pull into the dealer's lot... Fortunately; THIS County's road crews know what they're doing, so the roads have been reduced to being just wet...
The bike ain't there... "By the end of the Month", was the best that I could get...
The Missus picked up enough quilt to make a four-masted Schooner jealous, and we headed for home.
...And off again to deliver a chair that won't be delivered without a truck... Gott take care of sister-in-laws...
Home; start pulling junk out of the truck, type up some insurance cards for the dealer; rmeind them that I need the loss payess's information for the binder...
And then I come in here to relax after a very trying day...
Thank goodness, for really good friends! :2thumbs: nojoke
