• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where's the brake squeal service bulletin?

I've done a search here and Google, but can't find it.
Got an appointment Tue at the dealer, and already on the phone could tell I'm in for an argument over whether they will do anything under warranty.

I bought an 08 with only 550 miles on it 3 weeks ago, and it was squealing like an old school bus as I pulled it off the lot, so I should be eligible for whatever fix was being offered according to BRP.

Thanks

I don't see a link to the service bulletin there?

Can someone help me? I would like to read the bulletin and know what it says before I go in and get BS'd by the service manager Tuesday.

thanks.

humm...I just asked my dealer about this and they claim that there is no service bulletin. thought they where a good dealer:dontknow:

Tell your dealer to look for the bulletin dated Dec 18, 08 numbered #2009-4. It deals with the new brake pads.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I sent an email to [email protected] this morning, and Carlos has already gotten back to me. He said there was no TSB, but BRP will cover it, the service department can verify it by calling.

I was very impressed that the company would respond to me so quickly. Thanks BRP/Carlos.

careful!

Just be careful- My breaks squealed slightly but I figured, what the heck, new brake pads- Thing has squealed like a stuck pig ever since. I am going to have to take it back to get it checked. It has been nearly 2 months and no difference.

Had my service done today. New brake pads all the way around, no charge.
The loud obnoxious squealing upon braking is gone, but now there's a slight squealing when I'm coasting slow through a curve, with no brakes applied whatsoever, foot not even on the pedal.
Hubs thinks maybe a bent rotor????
Anybody else ever experienced that? I think someone started a new thread with this as a subject line today, coincidentally, I'll go look that up and see what answers he got.
I also received my new DPS unit today, and WOW what a difference in how easy it is to turn. I almost threw myself off a couple times, over steering (well, at least it felt like it). the DPS was out when I purchased it, I've never ridden with it before, so was used to using some muscle to turn. Will take some getting used to.
