• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where's he at?

personally i am offended by the following:
The word Colored--white is a color too
African-american since everyone living in this country when tracing your heritage back 40,000+ years you will find we are all african.
Native american since if you were born in this country you are then native.
Radical muslim since being radical would go against the norm a muslim who is a good person would be considered radical and a
good muslim follows the koran and will beat his wife, kill non believers if they don't pay jizwah or kill those who leave islam.
Liberals who want to give away my money without my consent.
Malcolm X blvd. named after the racist who wanted the extermination of the white race, was pro segregation and anti MLK.
Those who believe it is ok for them to do something but others can't.
I am offended also by all forms of discrimation like senior citizen discount & handicap parking.

So what offends others on this forum that should be banned?

bring cuzn back ----------------- does that offend anyone here?

:agree: x 2. AND...there are some that really need that handicapped parking place and plate.

I'm not saying i won't abide by it but technically speaking it is a form of discrimination and i get offended by all forms of
discrimination.
discrimination may be legal but i still get very offended by it.

well i posted that stuff because cuzn was booted for so called offensive posts and my point is everything is offensive to someone.
i also find judge judy offensive since she lies & deceives people on every episode.

Ignore Function Works Great

The ignore button works really well. And yes Bob you can un-ignore, and re-ignore, very easily. There are several people on this forum on my ignore list. Mostly these are people that are so negative that I don't want to even think about what they might say. After a while I even forget they are on my list. So no need to call the "Thread Police" just ignore the individual. nojoke

Yeah, I thought about doing that on a couple of forums, Pirate, but always thought "no.....they might have something interesting to say"......and then they would write something that I couldn't help myself replying to, even though I KNEW I shouldn't. I finally put the two individuals on my "ignore" list, and my enjoyment of those forums has increased immensely. I do still see negative comments from others to the "ignored" individuals on those forums, following an unseen post, and I think "I'm so glad I didn't see that original post", and move on to the next thread ;).

Pete

 I have tried to put a couple of folks on my ignore list. The trouble is; I still keep letting my curiosity get the best of me! :banghead:

Hmmm. I wonder if I am on anyone's ignore list. I certainly hope so! :sour:

Not mine. I have zero members on ignore.

I believe that if you are someone's ignore list that you get a message stating that fact if you try to answer a post. Others will correct me if I am wrong.

Sooo, just for the exercise, I added you to my 'ignore list' - I hope you're not too devastated by that.... or lonely in there all by yourself!

Buuuut, Did you get a message when I added you? I do get a notice where your post would be saying your post is hidden cos you are on my ignore list, but I got no msg to stop me responding to the post that I no longer get to see???? :dontknow:

So now I'll go take you off my ignore list.

It all seems a bit pointless (& confusing) to me! :gaah:

I don't know that the exercise is as confusing as your above post, Peter:D........now my head hurts. (Which is not unusual, of course ;) )

Pete

I always read Cuz's threads and while a few were maybe silly, IMO anyone that was offended enough to run to Lamont, needs to get a life, or a cave to live in.

Ahhh, my job here (in this thread anyway?!) is done! :roflblack:

Seriously tho, & now talking generally & not (necessarily) about you Pete ( :p)

I think that often the people getting their knickers in a twist & 'complaining to the umpire' over what someone else has posted on a Forum where 'you, the reader' gets to choose what you read (or don't read :dontknow:) really says somewhat more about the reader/complainer than it does about the poster.... :sour:

I've found that some people can read the weirdest (&/or rudest/most offensive) things into text that was posted without any of that in mind, but the reader has interpreted the post from the basis of what THEY would've said in the same circumstances (or should that be 'from the base-est'...?? ) & that often may not have even the slightest bearing upon what the poster intended.... eg. what do YOU read into the phrase "Do unto others.... FIRST!"? :dontknow:

I agree absolutely, completely and without reservation, Peter.......and there is NO way I am touching the "do unto others..FIRST" question 😉😆😆😆

tho i don't like rap music i never picketed a radio station to stop playing or to shut down, i found out i am capable of doing something
only a few others in this country can do, turn to another station. I may not want to hear it in the movie i was watching at home but
i am powerful enough to know i can hit the mute button or tolerant enough to wait the minute or 2 until it is over.
Just remember this, i live in nyc and i tolerate mayor deblasio so does cuzn.

:agree:An excellent analogy and endorsement to the "ignore" button feature.

When you have someone on your "ignore" list, and they post on a thread you are involved in,
where their post is, is now a thin section that says :

"XYZ has posted. He is on your ignore list.
click here to view his post.
click here to remove XYZ from your ignore list. "

That's it. No other effect on threads. Nothing more that I can determine.

Kudos to you for being able to tolerate that freak that's your mayor.

Thanks for the test. It's been so long when I did that to Bob D. (as a test), that I don't remember the exact results.

I did not get a message that I was "ignored." Had I known, I would have posted something to one of your threads or replies. That is where the message pops up--I believe.
