• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where's he at?

I don't care if we change or not,but some were complaining about the censoring so here is a solution. You must ask to join this type of forum,to read or post so you can't just randomly wander in. It is restricted access. The other forum has been around since 1999 and this has worked well for us. It may not work here.

I used to be on WeldingWeb.com and they had an Off Topic forum that was pretty much no holds barred. Only restrictions were porn, racial slurs and personal attacks. And sometimes the personal attacks were barely regulated.

While it made for some EXTREMELY lively discussions, it also darn near ruined the site! I did my fair share of posting and all I will say is I was in the minority, so that seemed to make all of us who shared similar viewpoints targets of the others ire and sometimes outright hatred, especially if we were able to refute something that was posted by "them" that was factually inaccurate or incorrect. Yes, I do mean "them" because that is what it devolved to.......an "us" against "them" mentality! Needless to say, I do not wish to see that happen here!!!!!

I think that the site is just fine as it is!

It is...
But John has been banned, and he's not looking to come back... nojoke

......and that is our loss. What a pity that a couple of "offended" members can result in the loss of a good man from the Forum . When you next speak to John, Bob, please pass on my thanks to him for brightening my days, and let him know that I will sorely miss his posts.

:agree: Me too.

I belong to another forum that wanted to have a sort "post anything you like" area but still be able to have a family friendly atmosphere on the rest of the forum. What we did was create a "Biker Bar" were anything goes, except personal attacks. It was a closed area and you had to get permission to be able to access that forum and you were warned about what the content might be. Took a lot of heat off the administrators and off the general board. Might work here.

Im an Admin on a few forums, I found that very little gets by here and why I didnt find it much fun. Seems you had to be part of some inside group or your jokes were reported for no apparent reason. :(

I see CuznJohn on Facebook all the time. I'll ask him there what happened, but i think I already know.

Read this quick...lol

HYPOTHECICAL

Out of 25,000 members on any given forum, how many does it take to get one member kicked off? But then again, that's like asking "how many lawyers does it take to change a light bulb"? "Only one, but 20 more to litigate the h**l out of it".

There aren't any "inside groups" in here... whatever the Hell that means! nojoke
Everyone starts out playing by the same set of rules...
Having said that: if somebody (for whatever reason imaginable...) decides to not like you, and make things rough in here: you just have to figure a way out of it. :dontknow:
(Hint: if you smile enough :D: you can an idiot almost anything! :D)

Use of the "Ignore User" setting is a great cure for a lot of issues. ;)

 I've tried to use that dang thing... but curiosity always gets in the way! :D

:agree:

Ya---- me to.;) Sometimes we just have to ignore each other. I was on the Bigbikeworld.com years ago and it got pretty bad. It was severely limited after bad intentions and threats got out of hand and people left ( I did ). It's GONE now.

I'm also sorry he's gone, I personally didn't have any issues with any of his posts I read. I could see where some might, if they did, they didn't have to open any more of his posts. Dale

PM sent again this morning. He answered in minutes. He does not know if banned or time out. It's a :bbq::bbq::bbq: moment.

If somebody offended me so much that I felt the need to report every single one of his posts then maybe its time for the ignore button or maybe take a look at yourself and wonder "is it me?"
