• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where's he at?

It is...

But John has been banned, and he's not looking to come back... nojoke

Too bad. If nothing else, his posts always made you think. Too bad that there is not a "Prude" community forum. A fair number of members here could leave here & go there, and the rest of us could have fun.

I belong to another forum that wanted to have a sort "post anything you like" area but still be able to have a family friendly atmosphere on the rest of the forum. What we did was create a "Biker Bar" were anything goes, except personal attacks. It was a closed area and you had to get permission to be able to access that forum and you were warned about what the content might be. Took a lot of heat off the administrators and off the general board. Might work here.

I just went to that forum. Here are the rules for the biker bar section. Pretty simple really.

This is a rough and tumble area for discussions not related to motorcycling. Some may find the material within very offensive and controversial. All points of views are allowed regardless of how unpopular. The only steadfast rule is no pornography, no racial slurs and no personal attacks or threats. No links to web pages pertaining to prohibited content. Access granted only to paid members and by request only.

Even if Lamont did create a private section here like that, as soon as you say "anything goes, except..." you create an administrative headache that someone has to deal with.

What is pornography? What is a racial attack vs "good natured kidding?"

Unless you create some sort of community moderated section ('n' number of downvotes automatically locks and/or deletes the thread, for example) it's just not worth the extra work. Even then maybe not.

I see no prohibition on politics or religion. Those are usually the two big no-nos that cause friction among members of a forum.

The problem with a disclaimer like the one above, that "may find the material within very offensive and controversial" is that even so, people will react in kind to what's directed at them.

The previous posters have you covered on where is Cuznjohn. I have also communicated, but don't know if it was time out or banned at this point. Time will tell.

I am voting for leave the forum the way it is. We get the occasional "interesting" stuff, but I for one don't want to invite more or worse. Worse can be interpreted any way you want.

Anyone have any suggestions on which tires to use? :roflblack:

Have to agree
