There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Where to ryde in Georgia...post suggestions here.

Nice find Keith! Seems like I've either seen that before our bought some maps with motorcycle routes laid out. I also believe I have some routes loaded in my Zumo 550 from Garmin for the area. Will have to look.

MAD Maps

If you have a Garmin, you may have Mad Maps. I have some of them also. Great jumping off point.

In Georgia

Well first on my list would have to be Harlem. But then again, what with Stone Mountain, and the Bass Pro Shop in Savannah what to do, what to do...

Not having been a rider in Georgia prior to our Spyder RT, I can't really comment on the most of the routes. If the more experienced members would identify the '10' for SypderWebUSA, I feel that would be appropriate. Let's post an initial 10 for the sake of getting started and if at a later date a change or addition needs to be made, that will be addressed at that time.

Also, I think it is necessary to identify the 'ryde'. Suches or Halem are just locations. The ryde to or between locations should be spelled out (ie: Deal's Gap (a location) is not the Tail of the Dragon (unless one starts in Maryville TN and arrives at Deal's Gap via Hwy 129). If a good ride has been identified, I see no reason we should not just have a link to it like this, Six Gap.

If I am being overly analytical, just tell me to be quiet or shutup.

As for us, SWMBO and I need to go out and do some research.

I forget the name of the road....but when at Spyders in the Smokies two years ago we found a road that was very twisty going up hill and then at the top was a waterfall that you could drive under....anyone know the name of this park/area?

Well me and Tammy set out to try the GA Dragon this morning. After missing my turn and ending up in Blue Ridge before I knew it, I figured out we were not going the right way. I tried making a route and putting it into the Garmin last night, but it wasn't there this morning. Gotta figure that thing out, :dontknow:. I said what the heck, we were out exploring any way. We turned around and got back to Dahlonega and stopped and ate. Then we got almost to Cumming and Tammy started to get sick. I think she got too hot. Shes cooled off now and doing good. First the roads are pretty twisty (the ones on 60, did not make it the other side of the loop), but the Spyder handled it pretty good. We ended up riding for almost 7hrs (including a few stops here and there). Had a good time, next time I know where the turn off for the loop, so I will have a better review :opps:!!!

Keep hydrated. Even if it means more stops. The lowland heat is murderous.

BTW... I am a firm believer that not ALL motorcycle (road/trips) are appropriate for Spyders. They just don't corner the same.:dontknow: Sweepers are one thing, twisties (as I perceive them) a quite another!

The whole route is great. The eastern 7 miles of 180 is really superb. I'm sure if a rider has done the Dragon in TN, he or she will be really impressed with this part of 180 in particular. The hikers shop next to the Appalachian Trail is up the hill on GA19 and a unique place to spend big bucks.

My name is Mike Fleischer and I am new to the Can-am Spyder. I have a 2011 RS-S that I bought in July and live in Mt. Airy in north east Ga. Most of my riding is north and north east of Dahlonega and around Maggie Valley, NC. My wife and I are going to Maggie Valley at the end of Sept. Do you have a shedule of meeting and locations?

Bridal Veil Falls, NC

Dude: I think I found it. Possibly, it was Bridal Veil Falls in Nantahala National Forest. Too bad it is not in Georgia, would have been a great one for our list. If this is not it, let us know so that we can keep looking.

I was at Bridal Veil Falls a few weeks ago. Down the road (going west) is a nicer fall called Dry Falls. Anyone can get a riders map Dahlonega Vistor Center at the town square free of charge.

Nancy and I got to Copperhead about 12. About 20 Spyders, as someone already said. Good to see the folks and different mods. Real good lunch and thnks to Freedom for sponsoring us.

We went over to Vogel State Park for a look and then went down the hill 1/2 mile or so and rode the Wolf Pen Gap on the Spyder for the first time. It's a super ride, as long as you don't try to do it at 60 mph - you'd be in the woods for sure. Lots of folks peddling their way on the road and several Boy Scout Troops walking and a few Rockets that practiced their abiities to pass on a blind curve - really can't understand that!

Really good day.
