• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where to retire to

That was great to know. I'll tell you that here in the northwest, it not true that it always rain sometimes it snow. rainy season here is 364 a year.:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:.

We're looking around Mooresville. The Missus wants to be near some water, but is concerned about hurricanes... nojoke
So we'll paddle around in Lake Norman a little bit! :D

We moved to Las Vegas so the wife could teach and I could retire. Less than two years and we enjoy it. Summer is hot but the rest of the year is great.

Hi Highwayman2013,

Re: so the wife could teach and I could retire.

Now there is a keeper.

I moved to FL. Yep, hot in summer so I ride a lot in the morning. Live in a 55+ area in Deland that is a great location to get to plenty of good restaurants where there's hardly ever a wait and only a 1/2 hour from the beach. THE REALLY GOOD THING IS NO STATE INCOME TAX!!!!
We live in NC just north of Charlotte NC in a town that the parking lot called I-77 passes through. I grew up in NC but have lived in several different states over my career, including Kalifornia. The traffic here is as bad if not worse than when I lived there. We judge where we go by the amount of time, not distance it takes to get there. With Lake Norman here you are limited on options to go to Charlotte. (Remember that parking lot called I-77?) We are trying to sell our house and move to Florida where it is warm year round but so far we haven't had any luck in selling the house. We are captive in NC!

That's one problem of living in South Florida, it is a long way just to get to Georgia...

:D You have to leave early, and pack a snack!
(and LOTS of water!)

We actually figure that if we've within 700 miles of something: that's just a long day in the saddle! nojoke
Based upon that premise: we're good to go South to Orlando, and North to New York! :2thumbs:
And Springfield, MO looks like a short two-day trip...

I would not move to Kalifornia even if someone paid me to move.... i'll stay in Louisiana... where winters are so mild you can wear T-shirts just about all winter... best fishing in the world ... prettiest women & best food.. and folks here are friendly....but. it does get a tad hot in summer...

osm
So where in LA do you live?
