• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where is my wife and who replaced her with a lookalike?

"The only disagreement we have is what color we like. She like the the Pearl white Limited while I like the Bronze. "

Congratulations on your future purchase of a Pearl White Limited RT !!

:roflblack:...Its funny because I originally wanted the red....before she wanted the white...needless to say what color we ended up with..:lecturef_smilie:

The wife picked the white right from the start. Looks great and really catches your eye. Go for it. And let the games begin.

It's in the water

While watching TV one night, a Spyder commercial came on. My wife remarked that it would be nicce to have one. Huh? Never in a million years could I imagine that happening. I made a promise to my mother when I was a young and also to my wife that I would not go on a motorcycle. I kept that promise. But the Spyder is different and offers stability that a two-wheeled motorcycle doesn't. And my wife is willing to get on one! When a wife surprises you and suggests getting a fantastic new toy, one must sieze the moment.

On Sunday we went to a dealer to have a look at them since we have never seen one on the road here on Long Island or anywhere else we've been. I expected her to gravitate towards the RS since she is frugally minded with our money, not to mention an excellent manager of our money. She discounted the RS immediately and had her eye on the RT. It only makes sense as it's something we both want to enjoy riding together. As soon as my employment situation changes, we will pull the trigger on one. The only disagreement we have is what color we like. She like the the Pearl white Limited while I like the Bronze. I hope to report back in the coming months that we are no longer prospective owners but proud new owners.

I don't know what happened to your wife but my wife drank the same water two years ago. I never had even spoke about getting a MC and we had never rode one. One night I was on the web just looking at the price and information on the SPyder and my wife walked up behind me and said "I suppose you want one of those?" I told her look to be fairly safe and I was looking at the information. She said ahy don't you get one for your 50th birthday. My birthday is in November and this was April! No problem, she said get get it now so we can engoy it this summer! :ohyea:My wife is also the one that manages the finances and is fruglally mineded. So when you wife says you can go out and spend $17K you don't wait. Next day, a Friday I picked out a red :f_spider:, no RT at dealer, and Saturday it was sitting on my driveway.:yes::yes:Now to get a Licence!

Now to find some more of that water, I want a red RTS.

Welcome

Welcome I'm sure you will enjoy it.
I was thinking of buying another used bike the wife says buy a new one and get a warrenty.
After spending several weeks kicking it around my wife says either but the spyder RTS or remodel the kitchen.
I sure love the Spyder.

My wife fell in love with the white RT as well. She never got on a motorcycle in her life, but she hopped right on our baby, and the rest is history. Congrats & welcome aboard:yes:

It only gets worse. Your story sounds much like ours. In May '11 we got our RT. Now for the worse...in September, she got her RS! But, its all good. We thoroughly enjoy our Spyders.

Keep us posted.

This all sure sounds familiar! When my wife, who's ultra conservative, careful with expenditures and over the top safety minded said she wanted an RT, I fell out of my chair and still on the floor. Must be some special water, because she wanted the Limited white one too. So, l did what every good husband would and got us a used blue one with a clutch! She loves it now, but there was resistance. Oh well you win some and win some a different way. Definitely get her the faster white one, if buying new. :D

The rules are these:

1. You pick out the bike (Hint: Pick the one she likes)
2. She decides the color
3. She decides on mods
4. You install the mods

Both my wife and I like blue. When we were looking at the dealer, she saw the magnesium and for some reason liked it better-and as they say "the rest was history." Whatever color you choose, you'll enjoy the spyder. Dale

After she gets, er.. you get, the Perl White, you will then be forced with deciding how to get the trailer to go with it... :roflblack:

You might wnat to NOT tell her how great that 622 is for shopping excursions... :roflblack: (Holds enough stuff to positively SMOKE a VISA card! :yikes:)

Man! You are one lucky dude!!!! Best of luck and enjoy your new ryde!!!

p.s Go with the Lave Bronze with the tan seat...... ;-}

My wife also popped in out of the blue one day and said, "why don't we get a bike?" Needless to say I was shocked. We had ridden can am 4 wheelers when we were in Hawaii and was impressed with the stability. When we got back in April 2011, we sarted looking at the Spyder. Found a great dealer and we too had a color issue. She wanted the silver and I wanted the red. We ended up with the red and taking it in to the dealer for a 5000 mile service. We got our RT in Sep 2011 which she thought was too late in the season. But the weather was such that I was able ride at least one day each month including Christmas Day and New Years Eve. Have had an absolute blast. Hoping you situation improves so you can get one and if you get to Spyderfest next year, look yp me and the Mrs. we will be staying at the Super 8 in Cuba.
