Thanks, y'all for the concern. I had planned to go through to New Mexico with the Three Amigos and was honored being part of the pack. BUT the evening before New Mexico the weather channel showed the patch of weather between me and New Mexico as being that front that spawned the 17 tornadoes in TX and they were predicting wind, rain and bad weather for most of the next day. Much as I enjoyed the guys and looked forward to all the time possible with them to get to know them better, it just didn't seem like a smart move to ride through the rain one day and then turn around and ride east with it for the next three days. So I called my sweetie at home and told him to turn on the porch light - I was headed his way.
Turned out I was satisfied with the choice - I had between 900 to 1000 miles depending on which route I chose and both days of riding were under sunny skies with good temperatures.
Sorry I didn't post yesterday but I'm still not fullly unpacked even today. I'm really involved in a project at our local Food Pantry. I had just been notified that a $10,000+ grant I had submitted for it was accepted a few days before I left and had a lot of work to get done related to that so all day yesterday was donated to the Food Pantry. I haven't read the back newspapers or opened all my mail yet but had to log in and get my Spyderlovers fix!
So...I'm home but hoping that Brian and Dick are out there having a great time for Gene and for me!
Already planning to try for the Spyders in the Smokies event to check in with everyone I've met this Spring so far.
P.S. to Joe (X), MO LEE, Bumblebee and family - thanks for coming out and having breakfast with us last week and to the guys for braving the driving rain and riding along with us for the day - it was great! J.
P.P.S to Deb and Bryan - my lovely pink ear plugs you donated to me at the Cowtown event made the whole trip with me - thanks!
