Where Did You Ride to this Past Weekend?

Texas

Me and my better half rode the three sisters (335, 336 & 337) in the Hill Country near Kerrville, TX. This is voted as one of the top three motorcycle rides in the U.S. This particular photo was taken just east of Leakey, TX on 337. It was a picture perfect weekend.

Well..!!

we rode around our backyard..that would be the backroads, hills and twisting roads that criss cross all over the place behind the house. But was not great weather so made it short 200 miles. Hope everyone got a chance to ryde... 47347491-DSC_0055.jpgHere we are ryding up Smugglers Run...thats a harley trying to kerp up...

Weekend Ride

This past Saturday, my wife and I got an early start for our ride to Cooper Vineyard in Louisa, VA. Louisa is only about 150 miles from us, so we decided to take the backroads instead of the Interstate. Every stop we made, we answered about twenty or so questions about the Spyder. It's amazing how the Spyder still makes me feel like a Rock Star! We even ran into an older Veitnam Vet whose Spyder was in the shop for a blown valve or something to that affect. He explained that he only had about 100 miles on it when it happened. Turned out to be an isolated assembly problem that BRP acknowledged and was in the process of getting a brand new engine sent to his dealer. We finally made it to the vineyard. Had a wonderful time. Made a lot of new friends. Took the long way home. Total trip-426 Miles
Sunday, we decided to have Brunch at a little place called The Virginia Diner. It's located on Hwy 460 in Wakefield, VA. At only 55 miles from Virginia Beach, it's a popular choice for my wife and me. The food (as usual) was spectacular. Met another Spyder Ryder from the Outer Banks. She said that she had not been on SL for some time, but thought it would be a good idea to reconnect with some of the friends she found while on the site. For the life of me, I still can't remember her name. Acute CRS! Well, we left the Diner and decided to take another route home. That was the best decision of the day. If you have ever riden through nothing but pure country farmland, you know what I'm talking about. The more adventurous my wife and I get, as far as "getting lost on the Spyder", the more fun we end up having. We ended up meeting a number of people that were truly amazed by the Spyder. Rock Star status, again!!!! Total trip-337 Miles
This weekend, I'll have to keep the Spyder in the garage. My wife's niece has some deck work that needs some serious attention. Time to play good samaritan. :roflblack:

Rode, My Vstar 950 to dealer!

Traded it for the Spyder RS-S.:spyder2:

My wife and I are riding this Saturday, in the Run for the Son, from Brewer Cycles.

Agree. The Three Sisters is a great ride. Especially love the twistys north of Utopia. My wife an I took the new Spyder to San Angelo to visit the grand kids. It was a lot of highway miles but the Spyder is very smooth and stable and it was actually quite nice. I just added the BRP driver back rest and it really made a difference in long distance comfort. Will look into bead rider or similar for the seat cover.

I've complained before that the storage is a bit small on the RT-S (can't get full face helmets in the panniers) but we were able to pack for the weekend including gifts for the kids without a problem.

The weather is going to be great this weekend so I want to go out and smash some more bugs again! Spring time in Texas brings out the butterflies.

No place !!!! Lots of rain, 50 MPH winds and cold. Other than that, it was almost perfect weather. Maybe next week.

Wife and I did what we call the Gorge run - Down the Ilion Gorge and up the Frankfort Gorge, Not a real long ride but beautiful....

We are blessed with at least 10 fantastic rydes within 15 miles or so of my home base. We have been enjoying all of them this past month. A little over 2000 miles so far this month.

I managed to get in a day up in the mountains on Friday, but then the weather closed in so no riding all this week. :gaah::gaah:
