Where can I purchase a long transmission oil filter for my 2013 RT-Ltd?

After paying over $300 for the 600 mile service, I think I'd like to start doing my own oil changes. I know where to get oil, but I'm stumped on where I can find the long transmission oil filters. BajaRon says on his "web" page that he doesn't carry these filters. I've looked on-line with no luck. Besides my dealer, does anyone have a good source to purchase these things? Ron, do you have plans to carry these filters?

Thanks,

Tony

Tony,

A spyder dealer is likely the only place the filters are available. Toledo spyder who has an add on the front page would be one source.

Note: Make sure you DO NOT mix the filter bolts up when changing oil yourself. They are different lengths. Suggestion. Magic marker a dot on the cap and bolts of at least one set so you know where they go.

Good onya for diving in!

I just ordered them on line last week from BRP. Got them in 3 days, they ship for a dealer here in the U.S. They come as a kit filter, new cap,and o-ring.

Realize that you are not going to pay over $300 for an oil change. The 600 mile service is an more extensive check of your :spyder2: . Your next oil change will come up at the 4600 mile mark so it might be cheaper. But if you are a hands on person, go for it!

Tony, The dealers are the only ones I know that have the transmission filter. I've bought several for about $8 or so each. The motor filter is about $13. I've used the Hiflow like Bajaron sells since day one for the motor. Not sure aout price but I think BRP sells an oil change kit that includes oil and filters for around $57? That might not include that 5th quart that you'll need to top off with and for adding when needed. In my neck of the woods, labor runs $90 hrly so you can save there.

The kit includes both filters, all gaskets and "O" rings, a new filter cap, instructions and five quarts of oil.

+1 and not an oil thread.

That is, for the BRP oil change kit.5 quarts of BRP oil, filters, washers, o rings etc...
Yeah, for about $60.00 US. That's what the dealer uses 90% of the time anyway, so why not?
