• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where can I order a backrest online?

I have a 2012 RSS and would like to order an aftermarket backrest. I actually have one on order through Classic Cruiser but it has been on backorder since April 29. It is a Roadkrome. Is there anywhere else I can order a backrest? My wife will not ride with me until I get one for my Spyder.

There are only three options for a passenger backrest on the RS that I know of.
There may be others that I'm not aware of.

1) BRP factory option backrest and sport rack. You need both
and can probably get the best deal on ebay or check the
For Sell/WTB forum here.

2) Corbin seat ( both driver and passenger can have backrest)

3) Road Krome ( you need mounting kit 16-6267 $89.99 and your choice of backrest;
elite custom backrest 16-2278 or elite silhouette backrest 16-2279 $119.99 each.

We went with the Corbin seating w/passenger backrest which is the most expensive of the three
but the most comfortable for us.
Note; Roadkrome mountining brackets will not work if you have the Corbin seat as it is wider than the OEM seat.

I know the factory Can Am sport rack and backrest are now available - the backrest has been on back order for a while . Mine came in about a week ago . The whole set up costs about $650 but come in color to match your machine . Very nice too , the backrest adjusts forwards and backwards for comfort . It's about a 30 - 45 minute install .

I wouldn't rid my 8 year old son til I got it in.

I tried to order from Classiccruiser everyday for a week, left detailed messages on the answering machine daily, could not even get them to answer the phone, much less return my call, now I'm making my own dual mode driver/ passenger backrest.

Let me know what you come up with Jim I might be interested in buying one from you:thumbup:

If you have a motorcycle supply house locally, most of them can order RoadKrome parts. When I got mine, I tried ordering on line, got no response, ordered locally, had it in less than a week.
Only complaint I have on the backrest; it makes it a BEAR to get at the battery.
