There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Where can I get a Clutch Slave cylinder for a 2014 Spyder RT?

Have you checked with the dealership to see if it's available? Do you see anywhere on the unit you have if there is any writing on it that may give you a clue of who supplied it for Can Am. Too bad you didn't have a part number, sometimes you can run a search and maybe find a used part, only if you had it! Good Luck, sorry I wasn't more help!

Does anyone know where I can get a slave cylinder for my clutch?
Well, if you’re talking about the hydraulic cylinder down on the left side of the engine, it’s referred to as Hydraulic Cylinder. Part number 420498012. But, I think most folks just take it off and replace that o-ring, if you’re having clutch issues. Otherwise, it’s a 200 dollar part, if in stock.

Thank you, I didn’t know that.

Do you mind if I pick your brain for a minute? If the dot 4 fluid didn’t come out on the floor and leaked through the hydraulic cylinder into the transmission, I’m assuming the transmission fluid will need replacing also?

What makes you think that you need a new Slave Cylinder?

What year is your Spyder? How many miles, etc?

Woops, just saw that is is a 2014.

There is no separate transmission fluid. Transmission, engine, wet clutch is all lubricated by the engine oil. Looks like you’ve got some training to do, and that’s ok. Why don’t you download a service manual. Dirt cheap and you’ll have it right away.

The official BRP line is to replace the cylinder. So, they don’t make a rebuild kit. Haven’t come across an after market one. Not very much demand. I could have sworn I recalled a posting from a number of years ago from someone who had sourced that piston seal locally - from a hydraulic shop or something like that. But can’t find it and I may have been mistaken. Apologies for that.

Some other info that may answer more of your questions. Picture # 1 shows the side of the clutch case with the cylinder removed. What you are looking at is called the Support Cover. It supports the clutch release rod there, sticking through the center. And it covers up the hole into the clutch case. There is an O-ring around the outside of the cover and an oil seal on the inside around the release rod. Those two seals are available through the parts system.

The hydraulic piston pushes in on the release rod to release pressure on the clutch pack for disengagement. Similar to some other makes of machines.

Picture # 2 shows the hydraulic piston seal that is your culprit. That’s all there is. Back to picture # 1, you can also see that there is a groove machined into the case at the lower bolt. That’s your tell-tale drain. If engine oil comes out of the drain, then you have a seal leak around the support cover or release rod. If clutch fluid comes out of the drain, then you have a hydraulic piston seal leak. A leak from either source cannot mix with the other side. If absolutely nothing is coming out of the drain, then you have a leak someplace else.

There is also a note in a past post that you may have to remove the front sprocket to get to the one bolt on the cylinder. So, there’s that. No personal experience. Sorry about my poor memory on the matter. Good Luck.
