• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where can I find a better dipstick?

Do we have an update on a better dipstick or does anyone know if there is an aftermarket one out there? I can't find one with google, and this post hasn't been touched in a year.

I made one for checking the oil when cold (after a short run time to fill the tank) and sent it out for field testing but never heard back from the guy...

thought?

I too am tired of the slipping o ring. Wonder if one could make a grove at the top of the threads so as to have the o ring stay in place? Hum may have to look into this. :dontknow::cheers:

I don't understand the mechanics behind this however someone told me at Spyderfest 2014 to turn the "O" Ring around if it hangs on the threads and it actually took care of the problem.
O rings are round. So how does that work? Careful you don't get your other leg pulled.:joke::cheers:

Well thank you anyway JT. I followed this post all the way through and I saw who you were referring to. That's too bad....

JT....send it my way and I will let you know how it works. I hate the oil change procedure on these things. Way too much room for error. I check mine and it appears low so I add oil, restart it and go through the whole procedure again. And what ends up happening, it reads the exact same reading as if I never added any oil...That is how so many of us end up overfilling our engines and gunking up our air boxes. Come spring I am ordering your airfilter kit for my STS...She is going into storage in a couple of weeks so I dont need it right away.
