• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Where are the bolts on

Where are the bolts on the driver peg brackets? I am trying to remove them to have them powder coated.
If you're looking to powdercoat the brackets you better get some help with that one. You have to pull the whole rear brake assembly off of the bracket to remove it. It's a pretty major job.nojoke

Wow, this hole just keeps getting deeper and deeper.

Thanks for the heads up Lamont. I think I will leave my foot peg mounts the way they are now. That will also give me a reason to leave my handlebar tree the way it is as well. ;)

And be reeeeaaaal careful when you take the master cylinder loose from the bracket. There is nothing but the boot holding the piston in the bore. (don't ask me how I know)
(see, bleeding the brake system ain't so hard.:roflblack:)

Other ideas...

So, I've started thinking I need to work smarter, not harder....I am going to see if I can somehow change the color of the peg brackets while they are still on the bike, because messing with the breaks is just too much just to change the color of the peg brackets. I just need to find some type of paint that will bond good.

I like that you were determined, and I was hoping you were going to go for it so I could learn from you. However, with all things considered, this may actually be the better way to go. Unfortunately I have no idea as to what paint will bond well, and hold up under the use of the foot pegs.

Hopefully someone else will chime in.

I'm looking

There are several individuals that are trying to help me with this. I'll update as I go along. They will end up black one way or another.

That's what I did to mine. Pulled all of them off, scuffed them up with a Scotch Brite pad, modified the brake bracket (some back yard machining). Used Dupli-color wheel paint and clear-coat. I used the same paint and clear-coat for all of the silver parts on my M109r. It has held up very well.
