Sometime/maybe all the time it is easier to talk about war because no real people - by name is in the subject. When I talk about Vietnam, I do not talk without all to many great Americans in my mind whether their names are mentioned or not. This is what makes talking about Nam brings to life in my head. This is what defines the terms of war to me. All to many times it gets to real for me. I do believe the realism of a talk of war is not fully understood without the experience of knowing someone(s) that lost their life serving their country.
I AM NOTHING OTHER THAN AN AVERAGE INDIVIDUAL WITHIN THE MEN I SERVED WITH, I AM ONE OF THEM THAT MADE IT HOME.
I served in Nam from August 1965 - mid September 1966.
below is a list of those I new And served with in Nam that did not make it home. I served with all but 1, & all but 5 when they were KIA. This list is NOT a complete list, for that I feel bad.
You decide if real names in fact make a difference.
