Wheely? I think someone needs to do it

I would have to agree with this, I have had people ask me about their wheelie on their M109 and when them it was just suspension lift they got all sorts of pissed about this.

I had that guy that had the power comander tell me that he had done one on here too, I would throw some money to you at spyderfest if ya get a video of both fronts up at the same time wheelie style, as spyderwolf said you would need a really grippie rear and weight on the back.
I mean with a bump in the tar off a hill I have got the spyder ALL tires off the ground but I don't consider that a wheelie, and with no working legs for shocks it was a rough landing but still the cops I work with heard it and laughed about it .

You all know how easily ONE of front wheels gets lifted without evo bar(made me wonder why it was so hard on that test by goldwing group), but it was that one time that I really felt both of my front wheels were off the ground. I was not able to duplicate that ever again but both wheels were off the ground and came back down. I am sure it was not much off the ground so it should not count as a wheelie thou.
I am curious that spyders with more power were not able to, granted that they upgraded Rear suspension also. I could not keep what I had on to the pavement so I am sure there were some traction problems.

That is a very good point as well, as I know mine were not off the ground by very much at all. It was nothing like pulling a hard turn and having the wheel come off the ground a good 4 inches or more.

Don't know if this counts as a wheelie:dontknow:, But a year or so ago i nailed a full recap at 65/70 MPH, it went under dead center.
Both front wheels came off the ground the only damage was a cracked air dam.
As they say in Brooklyn It could have been Worst'er.

They probably came off the ground more than mine did. I am glad that there was no more damage to your Spyder, and especially to you. It definitely could have been worster.

I don't really count mine as a wheelie either; wasn't high enough or long enough. It just surprised me that it happened at all! WHen mine happened, my tires had a good amount of heat in them already and I was not at a complete stop; it was a kind of rolling start so the engine was spun up a bit when I nailed the throttle. Like I said, everything just fell into place.

IMHO I don't think the Spyder is capable of doing an honest-to goodness wheelie. Frankly I don't think I would really want to do one.

Maybe the key here is not a back-wheely but a front wheely.

With all the weight being in the front maybe the key is to disable the back brake and see if we can get the rear to lift..

Actually this would be tough to pull off without a hand brake now that I think about it.

I spent a lot of quality time with that Grizzly's snout pointed at the sun. Traded it in to get my Spyder...:2thumbs:
A stoppie might is probably more likely with these tripods... You'll need STICKY tires up front though... The ABS might actually make it easier to accomplish too!

I'm with Firefly on this one. I need to see some video or photos. I have had the front end up on different types of vehicles and you are never up as far as it seems.

I have been very aggressive at take off on the Spyder and I just don't see it getting off the ground. Heavy in the front and not enough bite in the back, just my 2 cents.
