• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wheel compatibility question.

I am considering buying new BRP wheels for my 2011 RSS (14") New wheels would be 15". Now I know that at 65 mph the speedometer will be off by only 0.87 mph. What I don't know is if BRP uses the same hubs on their 2013 up as they did on previous years. In other words, will the new wheels bolt on my hubs? Thanks for the help.
I searched for a previous post but was unable to find 1 so I apologize if this is a duplicate thread.

They'll fit, and your speedometer won't be off a bit! (Or at least not anymore than it was before.)
The difference in the tire's profile, makes up the difference in the rim diameter. :thumbup:
 
Not a problem..!!

the 15" helped switch over to the brembo brake calipers. Lower profile tires compensate the overall diameter. What you can't do is use the older wheels on the new models...pictures when your done with the change...:thumbup:
 
thanks guys that's what I needed to know.
I found a tire compatibility chart that showed that the 15" tires (165/55/15) would read 65 mph on speedo but would actually be traveling at 64.13 mph. As pointed out, our speedos are off more than that to start with.:D
 
The new wheels have a different offset than your old ones. The fenders will have to shimmed to center them up again. That is why the catalog says they will only fit on 2013 to 2015 model years.

We had someone with an older RT swap wheels back and forth; they didn't mention any offset problems.
I know that they pop up when you switch back and forth between RS, and RT wheels... :shocked:

If I remember that thread correctly they replied later and said they shimmed fenders.

Well, putting the fenders on with no spacers is a lot easier than getting the spacers back in where they belong when putting the fender back on I have discovered on a couple of the bolts. So all the new wheels I have pictured at the top of the thread are going to have
1/2" more offset than my original wheels and taking the spacers out will center the fender over the tire no matter which of the 3 wheels I decide upon ? (all 3 wheels are listed on BRP website as for being on 2013+ RS) I was hoping they listed them that way because of the 15" size versus the 14" on my 2011

Planning on this being my after Xmas project.
 
ODOMETER ISSUES

:hun:..I may be wrong on this but I don't think so........there should be NO odometer issues when changing out front wheels no matter what size ...........Because the REAR wheel is what the calibration is taken from :lecturef_smilie:........Mike :thumbup:

Geez............ I am an idiot. I knew that too and still couldn't get the speedo correction out of my head.:opps::opps::opps::opps::opps:
