• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Wheel balancing

Are you saying you had them balanced after you had ride-on installed?

Yeah, I didn't have them balanced when I had them mounted. I just added ride-on at that time. Now 3000 miles later, I developed the wobble. So I took the tires into to Discount Tire and had them balanced. After a couple of rides, they are much better but, quite honestly, not perferct.

Has anyone used the Dyna beads for balancing their tires. They worked great on my Goldwing.
I've been using the dynabeads for a couple of years now, I could notice the difference in my mirrors, I could tell what kind of cars were behind me. I will be putting them in a new Toyo Proxes 4 that will replace my T1R, which has been discontinued. In Germany the Proxes 4 has been discontinued, but the T1R is still available.

Dyna Beads

I like the ride on concept, but because I ride a lot in cold weather I think I am going to go with Dyna beads. I think maybe the ride on is not working as well in colder temps.

I run ride on in my SPYDER, and no issues with vibrations/wobbles etc ( from the frozen north ) gotta do the trialer tires before the OREGON trip, already have the product just waiting to get the trailer out from storage. TOO MUCH SNOW. Also am going to change rear tire before trip and remove wheel weights , and use ride on only. Hope it helps.

wheel balancing

For anyone that has had to have their wheels balanced, is an authorized Spyder dealer the only place that can do it? I cant find any place that can do mine and just figured that only an authorized Spyder dealer has a way to do it. One shop told me not to worry about the fronts since they are so small it might not matter. But, now I have the rear wheel back from powder coating and no one can do it either. By the way, I dont have a dealer in my area thats why I have been checking tire shops and motorcycles shops. I have a Can-Am dealer (not authorized in Spyder's) but could not get over there in time to check. Not that it is really far away, but my closest dealer is 40mi away and after doing my first service there...I DONT want to go back! Might not have a choice I am guessing?

Check out Centramatic. They now produce wheel balancing discs for the Spyder. Highly recommend these. My husband has been using these on his Goldwing for years. Just ordered a set for my RT.

centramatic has produced wheel balancers for the spyder. Highly recommend checking them out

The Centramatic wheel balancers for the Spyder will only work with 15" wheels. They will not fit on 14" wheels. Folks at Lamonster Garage say they are working on a 14" version. Looking forward to having a set of these on my 2011 RTL (14" front wheels).

wheel balance !

I can`t believe a tire place would say " One shop told me not to worry about the fronts since they are so small it might not matter " :banghead: the fronts on my 2012 , had a heck of a bounce at 40 too 43 m.p.h. I powered through those speeds and it smoothed out , but I did take mine off the cycle and had discount tire balance them for free , they said the left was right on target , but the right needed 2 weights , rides smooth now !

TIRES

I have 1/4 oz weights and 15" tires. Thanks
" 15 " inch ................. is the SIZE ................ who MADE the tire ???? , That tire imho is defective. It has far too much weight to balance it ............. or it's not balanced now after those weights and this is worse ........ Mike
