• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's your route and date of travel to Chicago?

OK
So I am leaving High Ridge at 7am going to Rockford ILL right turn to Libertyville.

Should arrive between lunch and dinner time----can't wait to see who's there already.

I have country driving skills---they are useless in Chicago.
So tell me there is a pizza place in town.
smilingene
will see u there. going up almost the same rt. But don't like the traffic around rockford.

my route

Up from southern Louisiana, many motorcycle roads in Arkansas, Route 66 from Springfield, Mo. to Chicago, through Indiana, Mammoth Cave area in Kentucky, down through Tennessee, down back to home on the Natchez Trace Parkway. Good enough for a first motorcycle trip?

Deb, we are leaving Tuesday morning, early. We will get on I-80 right here in town and head east. Plan on jogging north around Hwy 51 to get to Libertyville. With any luck we will arrive around 3:00pm Friday. We added a trunk for more storage capacity.

We hope to make about 600 miles a day. Can't wait to see you guys again.

You guys ride safe and we are looking forward to seeing you both again. Thinking about that Chicago style pizza on Friday night with good friends, both old and new is just as exciting as the event I think.

Route to BRP event

La Monster...you are going right through beloit were i live. i am also attending.. message me if you want to meet up.

MySpyder

I live just south in Rockton. I plan on going for the Saturday only and will be going through Beloit to 43 then down 12 to 173. I may take 173 back for a change of scenery.

My schedule is flexible but had planned on being in Lake Villa around 9:00am before the big groups start to arrive. Let me know if you would like to meet up for the drive over.

My wife and I will be riding from Victoria Harbour, Ontario on the 24th to Grand Blanc, MI., enjoying their (dltang's) hospitality. Then riding on with dltang at 0800 on the 25th to meet the rest of you great Spyder Ryders!

Frank & Barb

Thought I would start a new thread for people to list their route of travel to the BRP event and the date and time they are leaving. This way, if there are other SpyderLovers that want to try to arrange a meet up for the ride, they can have some idea of who is headed their way.

We are leaving at 0800 on June 25th, we are meeting up with some Ontario SpyderLovers at the I-69 and Belsay Rd exit. We will be stopping at I-94 in Lawrence MI at approx 1100. From there we head to Merrillvill Portillos for lunch with the Indiana crowd and BajaRon at approx 1300. Then on to Libertyville it is.

We are definitely going to have a great crew for the ride over. Can't wait to meet you. Look for a PM later this week and we will square away all the details.

Couldn't figure out how to display the picture. Here is the route we expect to take. Like Firefly, we want to do the more scenic and less hectic roads until we get to the southern part of the Lake. Gas (rest) stops at Three Rivers, Chesterton, IN, then on to Libertyville. Staying at the Hampton Inn there. See you guys staying in Libertyville, Friday, and the rest Saturday. Have my straight-jacket waiting! :roflblack:

Scotty. You guys are going!!! Yeah. We are excited!!

Hey Scotty--- you might want to consider taking 294 up around Chicago instead of 90/94...nojoke

While still hectic, it's not as crazy until you merge back with 90 near O'hare.

Time of day is EVERYTHING in Chicagoland --- Best time (other than late night) during the day to go on either route is from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Anything before 10 or especially after 3 and traffic is nuts.

Thanks for posting my route, Doru. I didn't have the patience this morning to figure it out. Looking forward to finally meeting you in person.

If I don't get on the Tri-State again as long as I live, it will be too soon. I spent three years of my life there one long evening. :D Never, ever, again!!! I'd rather chance the Ryan. Too bad my teleporter isn't working! :roflblack: We should be there mid-day, so we may survive. I can't say I am looking forward to it.
