• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's with this Intermittent loss of 1 cylinder - any ideas?

During a ride, especially 2 up, after say, 40kms, the engine loses power and runs roughly. The exhaust gets extremely hot and smells. If stopped and left for an hour, the engine then runs OK again. There are no codes displayed. Does anyone have any ideas, much appreciated. Dave.

Meant to add, the engine temp gauge does not show any indication of heating up above the normal. It sounds like 1 cylinder has stopped working and I'm wondering if it is dumping fuel? Great site and thankful of being accepted as a member.

It would be good to know which Spyder year and model you are riding. If it's a 998 V-Twin, then it could well be spark plug wires failing. A 1330 could be bad coil pack or fouled spark plug.

You're not going to show any heat with the cooling system as the problem is not creating heat in the cylinder. It's your catalytic converter getting blazing hot trying to deal with raw fuel, which is not good and could even be dangerous.

With more information I may be able to give you a better idea of which way to go. But it's not something you want to ignore.
