• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's the word

Booklet

Awhile ago in snail mail I received from BRP a 2008-2012 Roadster Maintenance Schedule Booklet. It is from the after-sales service department. For example, they now suggest 4600 miles instead of 3000 miles for oil change intervals. It also has a free coupon for your dealer to change out an oil filter access body panel, etc.

The booklet telling about the service and the coupon for the free oil panel arrived here about a month ago. I have the panel now in my 2010 but will wait another four weeks or so to have the final seasons oil change in the 2011.

What's CARB have to do with oil filters and all? Just trying to change my oil and little easier. Politicians, sheesh.

Politicians love money, oil companies love to sell oil, oil companies make donations to politicians, politicians make us change oil sooner (3000 miles), oil companies sell more oil, the oil filter manufacturer sells more filters. All comes down to who makes money. Good thing is that when your warranty is done you can change your oil when you want.

It has nothing to do with filters/oil, It's the change to 46 hundred mile verses 3 thousand mile change. that has to be certified by CARB to make sure your air in California stays pristine.

I pretty much do that now Bob. I use synthetic oil which stretches the intervals and do my own. Nearest dealer is in VV and I might have to wait a week to be seen. What is this? *****care for Bikes?

Funny how *****care has asterisks. Not my doing. Is it a naughty word or what?

Lets see. How about Romneycare. That works. Hmm.

BRP sure has everyone in a pickle barrel on changes! I just shake my head and wonder where all the "adults" who own rides have gone. Warranty paranoia abounds. I just change my oil and filter every 5000 miles and I ride in between. I have 2 months left on the warranty and I haven't lost a minute's sleep over it since day one. Reaching for 26,000 miles and the Spyder has never been in the shop except for warranty work. Love my Spyder.

Oh, and I forgot to mention. I use Royal Purple 10W40 AUTOMOTIVE Synthetic oil. Totally against the BRP Bible of rules!
