• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What's the most gas you ever added to an almost empty tank?

On another thread where I noted that the gas tank is listed as 7.13 gallons capacity, a comment was made that it is not possible to add more than 6 gallons to the tank due to its shape. Yesterday after a long day of riding I put 5.2 gallons in the tank, which for me is the most I've yet done at one time in the 10 weeks that I have owned my 2021 RT. I seem to be averaging about 34 mpg, and assumed that with 7 gallons in the tank I have a real range of about 230 miles. That made me believe that I could safely go 200 miles between fill ups. But if in fact the tank only really holds 6 gallons, that 34 mpg works out to 204 miles, which would mean going no more than about 175 before filling. Yesterday I did about 170 miles and the gas gauge showed that I could still go another 55 miles, but I don't want to count on the bike's fuel computer and risk getting stuck on empty.

You are "seeming" and "assuming", while asking for an Exact amount. BRP list's the EXACT tank capacity; but the tank CANNOT actually hold that much liquid, because the fill opening is BELOW the top of the tank! The gas tank is DESIGNED to have an air pocket up high to allow for Expansion of the gas. Which is very likely to occur. All gas gauges are designed using the "SWAG" principle. Good luck. Me, 6.38 gal. and on that tank got only 33.8 mpg, so what; probably had a bunch of high speed super slabbing. Don't overthink the problem. Ride; when the low fuel light comes on gas up. As you accumulate more mileage your engine will become more broken in and your mileage will improve.

O.K. I’ll be the same odd man out. Up here in Canada we don’t use gallons, but when we diid, it was the Imperial Gallon, which was 160 ounces as opposed to your gallon which is 128 ounces. Anyway, we are now metric, and my tank is 26 litres. The most that I’ve put in is 22.002 litres which is 5.812 U.S. gallons.

Supposedly 300mls short of a totally empty tank in my '17 RTL according to the pump - on a two up + trailer travelling out west in 46 Degree C (114F) heat

5.5gallons (US) at 220 miles 2-up
2020 F3-Limited
Riding like an old man with a 78-yr-old great grandmother behind me.

2018 F3L. 225 miles. 6.2gals. Miles to empty ended and showed a few straight lines and the gas gage red line disappeared. Supposedly has .9 gal left but doubt it.

just got back from eauClare wis 6 a couple times on way up and 6.419 once on way back couple 6 s and 6.636 once

WOW I've checked my 14 RT ..... and you were very, very close to engine cutting off ..... Mike

And probably also very close if not actually doing some damage to the fuel pump/Injector system!! :yikes:

Then again, who really knows how accurate the bowser's meter was?? :dontknow:
