• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My new spyder RT Limited has 466 miles so far. Yesterday when I started it an orange symbol appeared and said "check engine". I checked the oil as per manual and it was OK. I restarted and it was normal so pulled out and went about 50 yards and the same engine symbol "check engine" came on. I turned around and when I started for my garage it moved slow even if I applied more throttle. Any suggestions of what occured?

Check your fluid levels, especially the brake fluid.

There could be any number of causes. The specific error code(s) that caused the warning need to be retrieved. The dealer can do this via BUDS, even for previously occurred codes. You can do it yourself (for active codes) on the RT by pressing "Mode", "Set", and the turn signal cancel simultaneously. The active fault codes (if any) will be displayed. You will have to look them up in a shop manual, or come here and ask for an interpretation. Even then, any problems will likely have to be resolved by the dealer, so it is easiest to just go there first.

Sputter....when taking off ?

Hello all,

I have the 2011 RS SE5...

Little over a 1000 miles..had 600 mile service about 100 or so miles ago..

Have used super unleaded since purchase a little over 2 months ago..

Don't recall her doing this when I first got it. I always let it heat to 1 bar before taking off. But if I hit the throttle, it starts to sputter like I am flooding it. I then let off and do it slowly and it's fine...:dontknow: Last time was even after driving a couple miles to fill up, then taking off into traffic it did it...not good

Need your expert suggestions... buddy suggested the air filter could be clogged, but haven't checked yet..

Thanks :2thumbs:

At a thousand miles i doubt it's the air filter, If this started after the 600 mile service then i would say it's go back to the dealer time.
Rule of thumb, When something gos wrong go back to the last thing that was done.

I had a similar situation. Started bike, check engine light on, felt like it was running on one cylinder, would barely move when twisting throttle. Shut it on and off several times until it ran correctly. Happen once again two weeks later. Went for my 600 and described the problem to my mechanic. Checked codes and wound up replacing the entire throttle body.

My mechanic had seen this before and as it turned out there was another RT in the shop with the same problem. Just my luck, he was sent two throttle bodies when he ordered the part for the other RT. Swapped it out, completed the 600 and on my way home. n2500 miles later, running like a dream.

Get it to you shop right away, he said it will eventually fail completely, leaving you stranded.

Good Luck

I would take :f_spider: back to the dealership that you bought it from and get them to hook it up to BUDS computer , so you don't get left stranded someplace .

:agree:LOL, that's the same advice I give when trouble-shooting computer problems!

Had almost identical thing happened....took it to dealer and he immediately said it was a defective throttle body, ordered and installed a new one and no problems since.........you might bring this up with your dealer......
