• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking at a 2008 Can-Am spyder GS (SE5) and they claim it is a Premiere Edition. Sorry im new to the Spyder. Looking at them cause im confind to a wheelchair. I'm asking cause I thought the first year for the SE5 was in 2009. Don't want to waist my time if it turns out to be a SM5. Also what does the Premiere Edition mean for that year. Thanks for all your help, and all the info in this site, Robert

I have a 2008 SE5 GS. Ordered April 2008. Received October 2008. I don't know of a Premiere Edition for the SE5. I just know that when I ordered mine you could not get one at a dealer (SE5).

I believe BRP did start delivering SE5's in late 2008 (October?). So there should be some 2008 SE5's out there.

I'm pretty sure all of the Premier Editions were made by June of '08, which were all SM 5's. The SE 5's came out shortly after that.

Correct. There were NO SE5's that were Premier Editions.... and just because a bike is a Premier Edition doesn't make it worth any more than a non-PE Spyder.

I would check around online--- I bet you can still find a NEW 2009 SE5 from a dealer for around $12-$13K

The Premier Editions were actually pre ordered in '07 and titled as '08 models. They have a premier edition # logo on a black plate in the stock handlebar console. The regular '08 models were made in '08 and were not premier editions. The premier editions were all SM5 models and may have been delivered in early '08. Mine is # 522 and was delivered in Dec. '07. Basicly they are all the same machine and fun to ride. The premier editions really don't have any special status. Buy one with warranty even if you have to get a new one. Also consider opting for the extended warranty. These machines can be very expensive to repair if you have a problem. Check out the dealer service dept. you want good dependable service. An 2009 SE5 for $12-$13K? I wish I knew where you shop. Prices I have seen are mid to high $14k. In Cal. you can add $1000-$1500.

Heck the lowest price I have seen in Ca on new is $13500 for a plain sm5.

They Advertise at less but then add set up and freight. On E-bay also, low price but then add $750 to your bid.
