• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What would cause my belt to get so loose

The shop tighted my belt, they would not install the smooth spider belt tensioner, so I have to do it when I get her out of the shop...Just curious if anybody else has this problem, and what I need to be looking for, as now I will be playing closer attention to it....

I guess when I get it home I will have to look at the front sprocket, I did ask them to check that to see if there is a wear problem---Shop told me everything looked fine.

How many miles on the belt.?? Or since you last had it adjusted,?

Never had it adjusted

This is my first spyder. It is a brand new 2012 Limited with a little less than 10,000 miles, the shop is also installing the first new tire... I do not know anything about them, just what I have read on here...there are 3-4 in my neighbor but they do not ride them every day...

Which Spyder do you have I have the RS and installed my Smooth Spyder myself it works great. The Dealer does not like it they do not know how to deal with them just be sure you dont get it to tight. :spyder: good luck.

Only two..!!

there are only two ways for belt to get slack. Stretching or loose rear axle. The only other would be it was never properly done to start with. Watch it from now on and check it from time to time...

Your belt was supposed to be adjusted at 600 miles and again at 6000+ miles. The 600-mile adjustment would take care of any initial stretching and if it wasn't done, that could be the source of your problem. Did they tell you what the tension was before they did any work? Have them tell you where they set it after the tire install.
