• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What were you driving 40 years ago (1971)

have to bring this up as being in the ARMY at the time, i was riding, if you will, choppers, not the biker type, but helicopters in VIETNAM. any one else? i am sure there must be
.

Yep, Out of Dragon Mountain [Pleiku] But in 66/67.

'71 I was riding my '70 Norton Commando, a nice Irish green it was, and fast too. Traded my
Beezer Thunderbolt for it. Before that a Harley.

after NAM ride

in 1972 i got a 1957 HD PUMPED UP 1200cc chopper. it blew anything on the road away. sure would be fun to try against spyder, would be quite a show, but no longer have it.

Darn! Missed it by one year!
In '72, was riding a '68 Honda 350 Scrambler. You had to carefull riding that thing with shorts on (burns). Straight pipes with Snuffers, no shields!

Cmon Forrest. 60 years? Really? Good thing you stopped there. I can't go back any further. I was being carried. But 40 years ago I had my 67 Plymouth Barracuda. Now there was a car!

In 1971 I rode a 1970 candy apple read Kawasaki H1 triple. Doesn't look like much but it was AWESOME in its day! 385 lbs and 60hp out of 500cc's. I raced everything that would have a go and lost only once.

I was so used to winning that I didn't give it all I had until it was too late. Not sure it would have made a lot of difference though. Got beat pretty badly.

I didn't know what a Shelby Cobra was but if I had, I'd have let that one go. All I saw was tail lights!

Looked something like this (though not from the rear which I got the best look at)

1971 BMW R60/5

Bought my R60/5 in June of 1971 for a whopping $1,680 brand new!!! Kept it for over 20 years before I sold it in a fit of madness. Sure wish I could redo that mistake!!!

A Norton 650cc P-11 'Scrambler', Norton 750cc 'Commando', Bright Red Shelby Cobra Mustang 428 cu.in. Convertible w/custom Tan interior, all for low flight..... a Bellanca Scout float plane for high flying !!! and I miss them all ! but I was crazy about my '09 RS SE5 :spyder2: with all of its' Mods. It has recently departed to a new owner because I wasn't ryding it enough after picking up my new '11 RT-S SE5 :spyder2: which I am equally crazy about. Just getting ready to start a winter program of RT Mods. Lots of Bells, Whistles, and Bling. ( It's your fault Lamont! By the way, 'Groundeffect' (Dean) says Hello. )

Regards to all....

I bought a 185 Suzuki..took the front wheel off of it ,took the back seat out of my 1963 chevy nova so the bike would fit,so I could get it home...powder blue..was fun!

A black/white Dodge with a red light on top and a siren under the hood. Not a very good ride but it got better over the years. Wife would not let me get a bike until the kids were grown.:sour:
