• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I recently started a new YouTube channel where I'm posting videos about Spyders and Rykers. You can find the channel here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCr3oGJd5KHM_S0bN7Cifzrg I don't have many videos online yet, but I will be uploading content each week.

What videos would you like to see regarding Spyders and Rykers? I'm looking for suggestions for new content. If you visit my channel, please subscribe.

Thanks

What ever you video - I don't care to watch you jabbering for most of it. Point your camera at what you are doing and get on with it. YouTube's algorithms seem to favor long videos with 20% intro and outro. I don't watch those (unless they contain VERY good eye-candy). Explain what you are doing while you are doing it. Use a tripod, don't do hand held unless necessary (briefly) for a close-up. Use good lighting. If outside in wind, do what ever necessary to remove the noise. List things like part numbers, tools, torque values in the comments. Leave any text on screen long enough for reading after it is noticed by viewers.

Don't post the same stuff that can be found on the numerous other channels...unless you do them better. Many have terrible camera angles, skip steps for installation or maintenance procedures, or just aren't very competent in what they are doing. Although that can be a little entertaining, it gets old really quick. I don't really care for vlogs and touring videos unless there is a point to make about the Spyder or Ryker that might be useful to me. Like others have said, unnecessary rambling or coming across as arrogant or an expert on everything turns me off really fast. Put up things that you find unique or exciting about the Spyder or Ryker, innovative improvements or discoveries, and any other useful information. That is a tall order, so good luck!

Well said above. Few people can do a good instructional/informational video. Dandanthefireman does a good job talking about moto accidents - doesn't waste a lot of time, gets point across quickly and moves on. Most of the Revzilla folks are pretty good. Just the facts mam. What tools are necessary, time involved, speed up repetitious parts. On test rides or product reviews be specific about features, issues and why it is better/worse than another product. Practice, edit, post.

I much prefer helmet mounted cameras. If I begin watching a ride video taken with a boring bike mounted camera, I quit. I want to see what the rider is looking at.
When I was making films (yes film) I was told that a take should be no longer than 5 seconds unless the subject requires more time. Over 5 seconds and the audience begins to inventory the ceiling. Keep the editing crisp.
I agree with pidjones - keep the yacking to a bare minimum.
Composition, composition, composition. Every frame should be a picture you'd want framed and hung on a museum wall.
Good luck and "ACTION!"
