There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Road Rash...
Everybody has been nervously dancing around the 800 pound Gorilla in the room...
Time to bring him to the table; albeit in a VERY mild and tame picture...
As I get older; I don't heal as well as I used to. If this sort of injury can be avoided... :thumbup:

It wasn't me or anyone that I know... it's just a small indication of how much "Fun" road rash can be. nojoke

I dont think anyone is saying road rash is fun, but I guess what gets me though is how a person can call us shorts wearers "friggin idiots" but not wearing a helmet to them is fine. I would rather have some road rash than have my head looking like the photos you posted. You all have a good day. Just got home after 14 hours of work and now its time for bed. Be Safe.

Two people can be equally wrong! You wear a helmet because you want to protect your head and brain so you can feel the excruciating pain of road rash when you go flying off your spyder! Now this accident won't be your fault, as someone will rear end you and there you go over the top of the handle bars heading for the pavement. Think cheese on a cheese grater as layer after layer of skin is left behind on the pavement exposing muscle fiber to the warm afternoon air. Oh how pleasant! You Ryde. safely, but the chick in the SUV behind you is still texting when she looks up to see you stopped at the light, but she doesn't stop. You wont die, you will just wish yiu had. Your not an idiot, you were just unlucky. Dress for the worst case scenario and you will be alive and well. And as a post script, anyone that doesn't wear a helmet, is not an idiot, they are a statistic waiting to happen. RIP!

Schuberth C3 helmet, Held gloves, because those two bits are extra hard to fix. Mesh jacket with CE pads and kevlar lined jeans. If I'm moving 25 or more I'm fine up to the low 90s - any hotter and I won't ride anyway. I don't believe in helmet laws but after falling during training I've learned two things - good gloves will really protect your hands, and leaving your padded jeans at home because you are only going to be in a parking lot may result in a knee that still hurts often years later. Didn't break anything but the impact was memorable...at what I believe was 10-15mph.

It's been a long time since I was in AZ, though I remember liking it. Then again I think it was in winter. During your summer I think I'd have to turn nocturnal.

Yeah, we do a lot of early morning and night riding during the summer. But if I have a doctor appointment, or need something from the store, I just put on my big girl panties and ride. If you cover up properly (long sleeve shirt, jeans, boots, helmet, etc), the blow torch of a sun doesn't hurt as much. Oh, and lot's of water! The furnace is only on from Late May through mid September.

In Kuwait the local MC group goes out early on Friday, when traffic is dead and the temperatures are reasonable. There and here in VA the humidity combined with the heat makes it a problem if you aren't really moving. There's plenty of shorts and t-shirt people here but if nothing else getting pelted with bugs gets old.
