• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I need something to clean the black parts. I use a good wash but the black parts..and the seats look dull. What does everyone use.

On matt finishes on cars and other bikes, they recommend dish washing detergent. It cleans well and doesn't cause the matt surface to become shiny. Not for the seat, however.

+1

Except on the seat... just soapy water...no desire to have a slick seat.

Yeah..won't do the seat...I remember years ago a friend had leather seats in her car...she armor all'd them...
That was before seat belt laws...she luckily was not hurt but she never did that again!

Here's what I use..!!

Plexus but expensive. Bike shops have a series of plastic parts cleaners and protectors. Most spray on and microfiber wipe off. This works the best no residues streaks etc...

For matte finished products I've used Cerakote. It's a one time application and lasts for years, simply wash and dry w the rest of the bike.

Hardest part is taping of the paint finish so not to get the coating on it. But...it is expensive.

Ive also used back to black in the past, it lasts through a few washings and weathers well.

I clean with water and car wash soap or Windex Multi-Purpose with Vinegar (never regular Windex with ammonia!). I polish or deep clean with Turtle Wax Ice Detailer. It works nicely on the matt black plastic. Use a good vinyl cleaner like Tuff-Stuff on the seat.

I've used a spray cleaner/polish made by The Motor Company for about the last 8 years. Works great. I usually buy it by the case and pass out a few cans to my biker buddies.

:agree: Turtle wax is great stuff

So many choices!

Thanks! I will try some of these and see what I like. Have a 9-11 run this weekend. Want my arachnid to stand out in all those 2wheelers!!!

For the paint, black plastic and carbon black painted items, Turtle Wax Ice polish is a great product. For the seat and other vinyl / rubber parts 303 Aerospace Protectant. Have used both for years and they perform well.

I use Plexus on the plastics (windshield, hood, black plastics) and 303 Protectant on the rubber and vinyl. The 303 provides UV protection, crazy good stuff. You can use one of many spray waxes on the hood and body panels, but for the windshield Plexus is the one and only. Use microfiber or soft towel, NEVER paper products. Plexus is also very good for the black plastics, and it is the single best thing on the planet for face shields and goggles. Rain sheets right off. But it is expensive.......
