• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am going on a 3 day trip from Tucson to Sedona, Jerome, Flagstaff, Winslow and the White Mountains. The temps and elevations will vary greatly. I know what I need but what are the essentials to take for the RT Limited? The bike is goiing to the shop tomorrow to have new lights and heat guards installed. Anything I should ask them to double check on? I have just over 1,000 miles on her. Thanks! Anne

They should run your vin to determine any recalls.
I have nitrogen in tires to ensure consistent pressure.
Anytime my plans are mountain or night riding, my gerbing coat is packed. Have instlled 12 volt BMW style outlet left of handlebar for easy hook-up.
My Limited fuel gauge is soo wrong that now I carry a compact fuel siphon system, just is case I'm stupid.
My son is a chemical engineer and suggested lemon pledge for windsheild and helmet visor to coat with polymers. Use a very soft t-shirt and you will be amazed at the sparkling clear effect.
RIDE SAFE-LIFE IS GOOD-STUNMUN

I agree. Especially if I am going on a long trip where I am not sure of fuel stops, the Reda gas can and 1 qt of full synth oil. Just in case! Obviously also the standards. Rain gear, tool kit, paper towels and a small bottle of glass cleaner to get rid of those bugs!

Trip

Have a safe trip and I'll be interested to see how those heat shields worked. What kind did you have installed on the Limited?

Most important item to me--a credit card. This allows you to take care of anything you forgot

Clothing--I bring two changes of clothes--1 to show and 1 to go. Wash the unused stuff at the motel by hand for the next days use. If your hotel/moteling--they have hair and bath stuff. Bring your personal stuff--tooth paste, meds, etc.

Riding Gear: I have gear with liners--both pants and jacket. I like the textiles for travel--waterproof of course. Put liners in when cold take em out when warm. I also bring along a long sleeve type sweatshirt for under the jacket. Waterproof boots--I like the SIDI's. Gloves--l lightweight set, l heavier/waterproof set. For your area--you might add a mesh jacket for real warm weather.

I don't camp--prefer to stay in a motel or hotel.

So, where do you carry your Reda gas can?
