• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What to cover our bike with

I'm in a diner looking at our RT seat baking in the 90 degree heat. What do you use to cover your seat when you park your ride outside? I've seen those half covers, but it seems like a pain and takes away from the cool look of the bike.

Interested in your input. Thanks.

You could try a towel I suppose, but there's probably way less coolness factor going that route than a half cover.

I've been using the Nelson Rig half cover and its been working out well. Keeps the dash from baking and it's way easier to put on than my BRP cover. More "bubbly" looking than stock, so less cool looking I suppose, but the seat stays nice and cool. Far cooler than a towel on the seat.

choices, choices..!!

we have the nelson riggs as well, mostly I see folks using a towel. There is one cover that stores in a concealed pouch in the back of the seat and stretches over the top. Only seen it on the RS/GS/RSS. Check the vendors on the home page or google it..!!

We leave these covers on our Spyders all the time. They are not designed for motorcycles but for saddles. Go to any horse supply place or tack store and find one that will fit a Western saddle. They fit the RT seats like a glove and are cool in summer, warm in winter. They are lighter weight than motorcycle covers and are both washer and dryer safe.

Someone on here had a towel like cover that stretched from the front to back to make a shade. I think they actually used it to keep people from sitting on their spyder. Maybe someone here knows where that thread is. It would work great.

Nelson Rig makes some awsom side bags for our RSS so for a half cover u cant beat them and their priceing and warentee is just as awsom just my opinion.

i just tell my wife, "wait here, and sit in the front seat until I get back so you get comfortable on it... "

I was just going to mention the Spyder Sisters on EBay...Well done!

Beach towel mu lit use.

We take a beach towel and spread it over the seat. You can multitask it. Use it as a blanket for a nap. Use it for shade, package or cargo blanket or as a pillow should a sudden nap attack strike you at a rest stop picnic table. Than there is the famous night time submarine racing nightly off the Atlantic Ocean here in Ormond Beach makes an excellent place to sit on the sand an watch your favorite sub win or lose.:firstplace:

Plus they are reusable and usually on sale so they are cheap!

Quik Shade

Bought these for our VStars but easily converted it to use on my Spyder...added two small hooks in the trunk and it fits over the dash also....cool seat...folds up verh small and stores in the sidebag.

I bought a part cover from a vendor who was supposed to be on here and at Spyderfeast. (This was before Spyderfeast and I could not go.) It was shade something. I can not find the slip or on the SL Sponsor list. I works good for rain or sun,
Could be problems some where with the vendor, I do not know.
