• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What should I pay for my Spyder?

Best deals to be had are still from individuals rather than dealers. But those are hard to come by, and to find one near by who is willing to sell it at a great price, then its pure luck.

Dealer pricing is out of my range and I refuse to pay retail on anything. So I just sit back and surf the net trolling from time to time on deals. Fall is generally the best time to get deals on bikes because no one wants to winterize or store it. But you better have a wad of cash on hand and ready to pull the trigger if something good comes up. Private sellers don't want to hear nothing about financing and waiting for bank approval. If you want a good deal, be ready to Johnny on the spot. I got mine the day after Thanksgiving for $10,750 with Hindle, touring and 1,500 mi. No blue book numbers at the time to reference with but I estimated it to be at or below whole sale price. It's all luck and willingness to wait.

I just today bought my 08 yellow brand new for $12995 delivered at the Englehart Center, Madison Wi. Happier than heck with the deal.

I followed up on that AZ $12,999 deal, and O, BTW, the Dealer charge was $1,899 PLUS taxes and licenses..... straight advertising ploy. Unforturnately, it legal in AZ.

Just bought my new '09 Red SM for $15 + license (no taxes here)... :D

I am still waiting to hear about mine and considering another Spyder. Wonder why they want tax if it's an across state/internet sale. They have sold several units and some have shipped out of state. Did they spell it out exactly what of the $1899 went where? Hopefully that's not a premium they are still trying to get?

May I quote?? "Shipping, assembly, ad fees, and a reasonable dealer profit. How do you expect dealers to stay in business w/o a profit?"

Not a problem for me, just tell the whole story up front & don't waste my time and money!!!! :gaah:

Allow me to speculate, Jim... that's their profit as they certainly didn't make anything on the $12k selling price.
