• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What Portable power stations do you use? Here's Mine!

Portable power - or solar generators - there's a few other names floating around, but they can be handy all the same. I've been fooling recently with them, attempting DIY as well as other options, hoping find something simple enough that works for my purposes (probably not just one solution).

So far, however, this lil' Predator 350W power station at Harbor freight, has proved itself.

  • Pros: lightweight & small (full face helmet kinda small);
  • Good display of information;
  • Multiple ways to charge.

  • Cons: slow charging;
  • not weatherproof (however, it is small enough for easy indoor or tent management)

Your results may very, but I figured it's worth a share. It will do more than just charge a phone.

I have a Lowe's 6500 portable unit. This makes 12 volts, 120 AC, and 220 AC. It runs on regular gas. Definitely not a fuel squeezer. I got this about 20 years ago when we had an ice storm. I needed to run it for 7 days. It still works good. I use it 3 or 4 times a year. Just saying that if I need portable power, I have something in place.

A 17,500 kW portable Generac, the largest portable I could find on the market. It powers the whole house. I had to bootleg it home because the powers that be don't allow them where I live. Why? Because it runs on gasoline. Go figure? Know-it-all bureaucrats are trying to eliminate all gas powered implements.

Sorry failed to mention fits on the Spyder
I kinda thought it might be a Spyder attachment. That's why I stated my generator was able to do 12 volts.

So what are you trying to do?
Just wanted a little more information about your question.

Have a Good Day. 👍

I don't have 1, but I've been looking at Ecoflow and Anker. They're battery powered. Lots of models and pretty good overall reviews. Some allow for DC (solar, generator, cigarette lighter port) and AC input as well as output.

Trying to do? < just share something found useful camping/emergency situations. Particularly here in Louisiana if/when the power goes out & humidity is up. 😑 Something to power a fan

I went with a more portable solution to carry on my bike.

BEATIT QDSP 1200A (Up to 8.0L Gas or 6.0L Diesel Engines) 12V Portable Car Jump Starter Auto Battery Booster with Smart Jumper Cables B7 PRO from Amazon.

I have used it for myself and other riders that needed it. It hasn't let me down yet!

Glad to hear. However, I am not talking 'jump packs' but additional power; USB, 12VDC, 120VAC, "solar generator" type - power that can be a great assistance when out on the road.

This is mine. It will run pump and keep the food cold. The small tanks will last about a day and a half running 4 on and 4 off.
It is portable because it is mounted on a pallet with the cords and fuel tank on the pallet too. I can move it around easily with the tractor. Got 5 extra fuel tanks for it. It is dual fuel, but I only run it on LP gas. LP gas can sit for years and still be good, unlike gasoline and really unlike any alcohol gasoline which is really hard to find after the power has been off because of a hurricane. Last time we had a hurricane, it took down my transformer pole and meter pole in the yard. I got a new meter pole back up in about a week, but it was 3 weeks before the power company could replace my transformer. Had to get some in from another State, because over half of Florida was out of power from the hurricane. Direct hit on me, 155 MPH just before the eye came over, quiet for a while, then 155 MPH in the opposite direction. All power was out within 100 miles. Of course, they always get the power back on in the towns first. Power came back on here after two weeks for everybody but me. A week later, they found a new transformer and mine was back on too.

The one I carry on the Spyder fits in my wallet and says Mastercard across the top with some numbers and dates on it.
It works well with the little flip fone that goes where ever I go.
