• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What Max Temp Reading have you seen for ambient air on your Spyder?

124° F was 95° outside with sun beating right on bike, but with a half cover on. We stopped for 45 minutes to grab a bite, and the dash read 124° when I pulled out of the parking lot, and that temp slowly decreased over the next 5-10 minutes until it came back down to a respectable 103°. I noticed the engine had not cooled at all; the temp gauge was still at 55%, like it always is after warming up. No codes were thrown; and my butt didn't catch fire. I also have the upper right radiator vent blocked off above my highway pegs, with holes in the floor pan, so I was concerned.... but all seemed fine!

While the temp displayed is somewhat respectable, the temp decrease in the few minutes is on account of where the sensor is located, and its ability to get reasonable airflow across the probe.

My relocation of the temp probe into the airbox, so that actual induction air temp info was available, gave alarming results. What I expected was to witness a similar drop in temp, in a short time, as your stock setup indicates.

My results were far from that, and allowed me to see factual data regarding engine induction air temps. Your indicated 124°F, while not uncommon, is the heat soak temp of the underbody items. My experience had those high temps within the airbox itself, robbing a lot of efficiency and power. With indicated temps as yours, it would require typically in excess of 45 minutes of non-stop riding to bring down the underbody airbox temps to 105°F range.

Just be aware, I believe a peak of 130°F will trigger limp mode.

Where exactly is the stock sensor located?

This is discouraging news. It was only 95°; and Texas can get to 105°+ easily. I might need to remove the floor pan altogether for even more airflow. However, I am replacing the cat with RLS's ceramic coated cat delete, which he claims can reduce temp by 400°F, so will hopefully get that on and stay cooler before I have to take more drastic measures. What is very odd to me is that my radiator fans were NOT on at 124°; you can plainly hear when they do kick on.
