• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I was working on my exhaust baffles last week so after I installed them I took the trike out on the driveway in about 4" of fresh snow and tried to burn a few U'es just for the fun of it; the nanny tried to take control and applied the brakes skidding me sideways and almost into the ditch.
Temperature wise I can dress for the cold but with the nanny on board its a non starter.
My last few trucks have had traction control and lane control; both of which I turn off as soon as I find out how because both are useless and detrimental on icy or muddy off road conditions.

Used to ride anytime except wet... Injuries now mandate 55deg and up... :gaah: That wind chill is a b1tch!!

I/we prefer to ride in sunny warm weather. I will ride down to 40-ish. Mrs. stops at about 50-ish. On trips or day long rides, rain and cold is just part of it, but a ride for fun or commute will never start out in the rain. The dark just requires more diligence in watcuhing for critters big and small in our neck of the woods. I can remember riding the hills of West Virginia, the deer were out during daylight hours.

My mantra is, "If it ain't snowing, I'm going". I ride year-round if I can see the pavement. However, I discovered the Spyder hydroplanes way easier than my 2-wheels - even with Quatracs. Used to run at 70+ mph in the rain with the bike but last weeks rain and the light weight of the RT had me slipping above 55.

We live in the mildest place in Canada in the winter. We ride pretty much year round. I added heated gloves last year, and this year, a heated jacket liner.

It is very difficult for me to answer/vote, I ride in the rain/and sunshine (if it rains while I am on the road, I'll pull over and put my rain gear on, which I carry on the bike with me at all times). I also ride during the day, & evening hours.

I ride from April to Oct. (in Oct, my Spyder goes into hibernation) I live in Vermont.

I find that cold weather riding is a lot more tolerable in our Spyder than the Harley due to the huge windshield and heated hand grips.

The Harley offers NONE of those 2 important things.

I think I’m a pretty conservative rider. As I’ve gotten older my night vision has tanked so I avoid driving/riding after sun down if at all possible. Living in the Pacific Northwest, winters are usually somewhat mild. So as long as there is no snow/ice on the roads I’ll ride. You just have to dress for the cold, not a big problem. I very seldom if ever ride in a group of more then 2-3 other riders. I’m not a real aggressive rider so I tend to take my time on rides. I usually don’t even have any real destination in mind when I start.

I ordered the faux leather hand grips from Lamonster but I may end up taking them off. They restrict the heat to the hand grips to the point I can't even feel it.

I am one of those riders who will ride in the dark and in the rain, until I see lightning, then it's time to find somewhere to land for a while
and have no problem riding 80mph or more at least that was on my Goldwing's.
Late Sept I traded my wing in for a new RT and got a few miles on it before putting it to bed until April.
But looking forward trying the weather in the new year

Just bought the Spyder but I rode motorcycles for years up to about 2006. Anyway, I try to avoid wet weather just because it is so miserable, and it gets the bike filthy. I love riding at night, but I have to be on the lookout for deer. As far as the cold, I dress warm but once the sand/salt trucks come out, that is it for me until we get a few spring showers that clean up the roads.

Didn't see a category for me. I ride year-round solo but only in fair weather. Wife only rides a few times a year in fair weather above 75°.
