There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. What is this???????????????????????????

Up dated Picture 6/22/16

Here is an updated picture: Micro Swtich @ my Trunk release 001.jpg With the 2 BOLTS the 3rd hole is under the black plastic ( a symbol of a computer for a BRP/Or a dealership tech and a symbol of a temp gauge. Deanna

It's a double pole switch. With the electric opener that the S & Ltd models came with in 2010 to 2013 it completed the circuit to ground for the opener when the trunk lid was closed. When the trunk lid is open it closes the circuit to ground for the trunk light. One switch performed two functions!

The trunk light and opener were not part of the base RT up to 2013. The trunk light may not be included in the base RT for '14 on either, I don't know.

After trying to figure out how to accomplish the same thing with a more rugged switch with my 2013, to which I added the opener and trunk light, I concluded the microswitch as installed is about the most practical solution.

Also, it has no connection to nanny.
As I stated in my first post( I have a 2014RTS-SE6 spyder model) Deanna

Deanne I think you are referring to the plug that the BUDS interface plugs into. You pull it out and plug into the interface.

I think you got your answer..what else were you asking about?? I got confused with some of the posts.. :roflblack:

Yes, switch for light. Has anyone tried to use that switch to wire up to a decent light in the frunk ? The OEM light is at best........poor.
Also, a light in the rear trunk would be nice.
Any ideas ?

Not on Deanna's 2014 it isn't.
I agree it was for the purpose you describe in prior models.
I goofed. I meant double throw. It's a single pole, double throw switch. Looks like the microswitch is the same as years past. The harness wiring is still there for an electric opener. It's in the wiring diagram with the actuator and modified parking brake switch shown as optional parts.

Yes. This is my frunk light spliced into the OEM light circuit. It's a silicone enclosed waterproof 1 meter long side emitting LED strip from Superbrightleds.com. It's glued to the plastic trim at the top of the liner. I'll have to look tomorrow to see what kind of glue I used. Really lights up the frunk all the way to the bottom.

I'll see if I can get pics posted of my trunk light. Really works good with a mercury tilt switch to turn it on & off when I open the lid.

Did the same thing but only stuck the lights to the back liner top and gives me enough light..I wired mine to the frunk light that will turn on and off when the frunk lid is opened.

Yes I plan on using my Harley trunk light that has a built in switch. I can get power from any where to feed the light

yes, I was asking about Where is the micro switch in the trunk? ( I think that someone had already answered the question, but if you know please post the answer).

FYI, if you don't have the electronic Frunk release. Then all this switch then does it control the Frunk light if you have that option.

This is what I use for a light in my trunk : 2014RTS-SE6 Spyder pictures(Farkles) 007.jpg I have a strip of "Trunk LED Light"'s that use and I plug them into the 12 V adapter ( that is on the left side in the trunk, if you are standing behind the spyder).

I bought them from Spyderpops, Item # Spy193- RT Trunk Light. These are bright, the instructions are very simple to follow. I do not have them ON all the time. Here is a picture with the "Trunk LED Light's off: 2014RTS-SE6 Spyder pictures(Farkles) 006.jpg
Their is a "push button switch" at the end of the plug-in.

*** If you do not have power in your outlet when the key is off, you will need to change the position of the accessory fuse in the fuse box. The fuse box is located in the front trunk on the right side looking forwards and all you have to do is move the 5 amp fuse from the number 6 position to the number 7 position and the power will be ON at all times for your use***.

Hi Dee!
While I really like that light: I'd have to find another source for powering it... That plug has my Onyx XM receiver plugged into it at ALL times during the riding season.
During the season: I set it up as a keyed source of power.
During storage: it's hot all of the time, and my Battery Tender takes up residence...

My 2014 RT the switch in the picture is for the Frunk light to turn on and off.
I am getting different answers some are saying " a switch for the frunk light, and some are saying it is part of the locking device for the front trunk.
